Nice wine, tough seafood

This is a nice place in the old village of Alonissos, with good and very friendly service, though we waited a good while for the bill to arrive. Food was ok, the highlight being the courgette fritters, a very generous portion and tasting great. Grilled octopus and stuffed squid were both tough, and... read more

The place is in a really good spot with a great view and the lady that attended us was very polite. But the food was not fresh and overpriced. I wouldn't go there again.

We asked for a take away moussaka and a pie with bacon and cheese. We pay 15 euros, the moussaka portion was inadequate and very thin. Usually the mussaka portion takes 2/3 of the aluminum case, our experience was that the size of the mussaka was a quarter of the aluminum case. When we realized what we had paid for... More

Paraport is not quite your typical taverna. It used to be our go-to eatery many years ago but has now been superceded. Plus points - an interesting wine list and the best (huge) courgette patties (made by owner Kostas's mum) on the island. I think Kostas is quite shy which is why he seems on edge much of the time... We visited Paraport on our last day of holidays in Alonissos after having eaten in many other places. It offers Greek Cuisine but with character. It was our best meal! We are vegetarians so we always try a lot of appetizers since we dont find much on the main courses. So we ordered a variety of appetizers and salads that... More

The Paraport has a spectacular view from the old town over the sea to Evia. It is the last eating establishment but one on the left as you climb to the end of the path through the village. There is a bar at the end but this only sells drinks and snacks and should not be confused with the Paraport.... More
