Our favorite restaurant on the island. We spent 6 days on the island of Hydra, and for us a perfect day meant Vlichos beach and lunch at Enalion (ate here 4x in 6 days). Five stars for the menu (variety, choices, yumminess), price (normal to...lower end given Hydra prices), setting (open-air, beach view, airy, no foot traffic), and service (lovely staff and particular shout out to the energetic and ever-welcoming and engaging Evangelos). We particularly enjoyed the red mullet, taramasalata (best ever), seafood spring rolls, fried baby squid, grilled sardines, and the grilled squid.More

We had our accomodation in Vlichos while in Hydra and tried various restaurants in the area and in the port, but this one made us want to try everything on the menu! We ended up coming back every day,either for lunch or dinner. The restaurant...is just at Vlichos beach, definetly worth coming here even if you stay in the port, just take the beautiful coastline path. From the menu our favorites were: the zucchini and tomato croquettes, tarama, cheese donuts, ground salat and the fresh fish!!! Apart from the quality food, at very good prices for Hydra, big portions on each plate, the waiter-Evaghelio- made us feel at home. So joyfull, helpful and fun! He become our friend. Of course, you will always get something on the house: be it desert, a raki or a coffee. Eat here when you come to Hydra!More

Hello Something on tripadvisor is not working. There have been no reviews of this beautiful restaurant since August 2019 but it’s been open 2020 , I’m sitting here right now enjoying the beautifully prepared food they serve. This is the best restaurant on this island...of Hydra , I’ve tested all the top rated restaurants on Hydra so I know for sure ENALION is the best. It’s accessed either by getting the boat from hydra port to “Vlychos beach” starting at 10am each day just look for the billboard on the boat. You could walk it along the coast but it’s hot and a good 30 minute walk so I’d say go by boat it’s a lovely trip . They do salads to die for here at ENALION and they have traditional Greek dishes too , if you want fish they have beautifully prepared fresh fish too. The wine is superb too. The Vlychos beach looks a bit dark and uninviting as you pass it ,I thought so too when I regularly passed bye to go to the four seasons but believe me give Vlychos beach a try the sea is pristine wonderfully clean and clear it’s a bay so children supervised by adults of course can safely use it. ENALION will serve you food and drinks at your subbed too if you want. ENALION has a little bamboo roof covered area with tables or right next to it you can sit at tables beneath the trees. This place s heaven if you want a safe clean haven with wonderful fresh clean food prepared with attention to detail. I’ve been here a lot during the four holidays I have had on Hydra over the last four or five years. The last boat from Vlychos beach back to hydra port is 8pm it’s a 10 min trip. Lovely taverna by the beach with very friendly staff. We ate lunch here twice during our 2 week holiday. Delicious traditional local Greek food and they also make the best Strawberry daiquiris - we stopped by a few times for those! They also serve food...& drinks on the beach if you rent sunbeds from them on one side of the beach.More

We stopped here for a spontaneous lunch snack. We were served quickly and the food was decent but nothing special. The frappe was a bit too thick for my liking. The setting overlooking the beach is nice.

We come here every year and it never disappoints. A proper beachside restaurant with lovely food in very generous portions. The real highlight is the waiters (Vangelis!) and owner who are just great. They work bloody hard but are always happy to see us. We...will be back next year. Can't wait.More

Despite a sudden and unusual downpour the friendly staff of Enalion coped excellently with a rapid influx of guests from the beach including our party of 4. The delicious food arrived with very little delay and was freshly prepared with the best of local ingredients....The whitebait was so good! A must for anyone wanting to get out of Hydra town to a beachside taverna with real charm, stunning food served by efficient friendly staff.More

Met a couple here who shared their entrees with us. The fried calamari and fried small fish were great! My wife had the grilled shrimp and said it was OK. Grandson had the chicken with fries - very good. Nice place, great service, cold beer...and pleasant surroundings.More

Enalion has long been a favourite beach restaurant and this year Yiannis has further improved what was always a fabulous place. The garden planted some years ago is coming into its own, and while the grass may be fake, there's something special about the texture...under your feet and the cooling effect it gives.. The food is some of the best taverna food on the island - being part of the family that runs Paradosiakos in Hydra Port, this is probably not a surprise. In particular it's worth calling out the beefsteakia (spelling is variable), cheese doughnuts (yes, really!) and dolmodakia (little dolmades created by a native of the island they hale from). There is also a great selection of salads as well as a catch-of-the-day - we've had the lobster as well as the babounia (red mullet) all of which were superb! There are benches in the share for pre-lunch drinks and hammocks for post-lunch siestas - I can attest to both! :) There really is no better taverna on Hydra for lunch at the beach!More

This restaurant is at Vlychos beach. It is well maintained and clean. The open area overlooking the beach is very nice. The staff are very efficient. The food we had was very good. Would recommend for lunch if at this beach.

my and my wife did the wedding dinner here, so what I can add after that? it a beautiful, cozy, greek corner close the Vlichos beach. the menu is greek with a twist. here you can find all your well known favorite greek specialties but...a bit better, something in the details, or in the ingredients, it's just better then on the other place around in the island. the place is magical, the lights, the surrounding, the flowers, colors everything is perfect. moreover the service is super friendly and kind, fast and careful.If you come in Hydra you cannot miss this placeMore
