I first stumbled into this place six or seven years ago on a hot and dusty September day. I had been on quite a long walk in the midday sun and just wanted to rest for a while in shade and have something nibble on. No problems here. The lovely people running the place served me a few slices of pita, some fresh vegetables and olives, a cup of strong coffee and a glass of ouzo, all for a very reasonable price. They turned me into a regular then and there.
At Thomas is nowadays my regular place in Rodos old town, whether for coffee, a small bite or a hearty meal. Can't really comment on their whole menu, as I never manage to make it past the mezes, which are heavenly. Fresh ingredients, tried and tested recipes and liberal seasonings make for an extremely enjoyable experience. The house wines are quite passable, but with mezes I recommend drinking ouzo or souma, as these really bring out the flavours. Even better, bring some company, order promiscuously and sample all of the different flavours. Take your time and enjoy the atmosphere of La Juderia.
Unlike all too many places, At Thomas is not a tourist trap, but a genuine family restaurant. They do not have an extensive tourist menu, as their thing is traditional tavern food, made with years of experience, cooked and served with pride. I'm wholly biased in their favour, and recommend each and every one of you to give them a go if you find yourselves nearby.

Beautiful meal! Food was exceptional. Fresh, tasty and very authentic. The service was brilliant and very good value for money. We ordered about six dishes, a mixture of starters and mains to share and the bill was reasonable. Would definitely go back.

Great wee place. Thomas and his parents are extremely friendly and accommodating and prices are very reasonable for both drink and food - food is really delicious too. Has pool table and darts and puts on bingo and karaoke nights. Would highly recommend a visit or 2.

If you’re looking for genuinely good local food in Rhodes, this family-run spot is a must. It’s tucked away in a quiet part of town, far from the usual tourist restaurants. The dishes are simple, fresh, and authentic—everything you’d hope for in a true local experience.
What really made this place special was the warmth and care from the family who runs it. The service felt personal, and you could tell they were passionate about what they do.
It’s easily been the best meal we’ve had here, and I don’t normally write reviews—but this place is worth it.

This is a real gem of Rhodes. As you walk there it feels slightly off the beaten track but it’s so refreshing compared to the bad tourist traps in the centre of Rhodes.
The waiter (didn’t catch his name) was very friendly and welcoming. It was nice not to have somebody try to drag us in!
We went with their recommendations which was the sea bream and also the Shrimps al Thomas. We got sides of rice, fried potatoes, pitta and tzatziki plus two drinks. All of this came to €55 which for the quality I believe was excellent value for money.
The shrimps were huge and not a tiny portion like some places. The fish was delicious too served with fresh lemon.
Really pleased we stopped here and would definitely recommend a visit - especially at sunset up on that roof terrace!

A beautiful family-run restaurant well off the beaten path, serving the best traditional Greek food in Old Town Rhodes, and in the nine days of being here, we had tried quite a few. Located opposite the town’s medieval walls and an ancient church, its rooftop terrace gives a great view of the old town, especially at night.
Upon arrival, a lovely lady welcomed us with open arms and seated us at a vacant outside patio table. We ordered a liter of their very enjoyable house wine to start with while reading the menu.
As the Greek salad was more than enough for two, so we shared one while waiting for my wife's very tasty grilled fish plate, and my octopus salad to arrive.
Everything was amazing, with a fresh clean taste that had been missing in so many of the other restaurants in town.
Our lady server even gave us complimentary fresh fruit and traditional Greek liquor at the end of our meal.
This is a place you must visit for authentic Greek food, next time you are in the Old Town of Rhodes.
TIP: Go early and stay late, try to catch the sunset.

This spot is open late and has some of the best food on the island in my opinion. As Americans we were not used to Greek cuisine and there were not many food tours on the island. The guy who I presume to be the restaurant owner personally recommended options that were perfect. When the food came out and my fiancé was not used to seeing a whole fish he came over and showed her how to clean it piece by piece. After chowing down she said it was the best fish she’s ever had. I had the shrimps Thomas and pita and garlic which were both spectacular. Our waitress then offered us some ice cream from the house which was pure perfection and easily the best ice cream I’ve had beating out $20 a cup ice cream I’ve had elsewhere in Europe.

This restaurant is within the old city walls but off of the main area and crowds of generic restaurants so it is slightly quieter. It has a small roof terrace overlooking the walls of the city.
It’s a family run establishment and our young waiter (possibly the grandson) was so friendly and professional, he was obviously taking great pride in the food and service he provided. He recommended the sea bream which was a delight and we started with split pea dip which I had not seen in Greece before. The food was delicious and I highly recommend this place. I would definitely return.

Family run traditional Greek Taverna serving authentic Greek Dishes.
If your in a hurry don't come to Thomas's ..
it is not a fast food environment...to be there is to savour the ambiance along with the dishes he prepares it may take a little time but it adds to the anticipation of a lovely meal....his Kleftiko is homage to the Greek people and to those who have paid the privilege to taste it...bravo .

I just cannot believe any of the reviews that have been written about this place. Arrived in Rhodes on Friday 27th May 2022 and after reading the reviews on this restaurant I decided that my partner and myself must visit. We were greeted by a very annoying waiter who kept trying to push items on the menu before we had the chance to study. Asked him a question on one item and he did not know and had to go inside to ask another chap before returning and giving us the wrong answer to our question. This was not the best of starts. We ordered some green beans in garlic for starter followed by two main dishes of kleftiko for mains. The beans were smothered in garlic but were not too bad. This waiter chap continued to annoy us by saying that everything is fresh. When the mains arrived, they had clearly been already made up and just zapped in microwave as they were wrapped in baking paper with brand new tin foil to make it look like they had been newly cooked in oven. My dish was warm to hot my partners was cold to warm. The total for the meal was 42 Euros which included a glass of wine and a bottle of water. The whole experience put us off from eating anywhere else in the old town throughout our weeks stay. We found a garden restaurant away from the old town walled area which was much better quality and much cheaper prices. Don't put your self out to even find this Thomas restaurant as you will only be disappointed.

Our last night on Rhodes, we all agreed we should go back. It’s a cosy family run restaurant, feels like you are going to a friends house for dinner. The food is well priced tasty Greek cuisine. Good sized portions served with a smile
Happy to recommend this place I promise you won’t be disappointed ( if the town is busy you may need to book)

We had an incredibly enjoyable experience at this restaurant. The food was nothing short of amazing, with a palette of flavors that indulged our senses. Every bite was a culinary journey in itself. Visited At Thomas with my partner based on the reviews and we were delighted with the service, quality of the wine and the food. Would certainly go back here. My partner started with the grilled halloumi which was very nice, I had the bread with tzatziki (the tzatziki was proper stuff, the best I’ve had and clearly made with care) for the mains as had the Shrimps Thomas which she loved so much she decided to spill down her dress! I also had Kleftiko for the first time and the lamb was very tender and vegetables perfect. I couldn’t recommend At Thomas enough!

My partner and I enjoyed a delicious meal last night here at Thomas. We arrived to a warm welcome around 8:30pm and shown a wonderful table outside the front of the restaurant. The house wine was lovely and the service prompt and friendly. We have been staying at a 5* resort and received far better service here than there! The prawn Saganaki was sensational as was the calamari stuffed with feta and vegetables. The young waiter and waitress spoken perfect English with such charm and kindness. The slightly older lady (possibly the owner ) was very smiley and happy to see us - offering us complimentary ouzo! I mentioned I didn’t care for it much so she brought me some ice cream instead - such a kind gesture and left a lovely lasting impression to our meal. Thank you for a beautiful evening

A charming little place in the old town of Rhodes, quiet. The starters as well as the main courses were incredible and fresh! We ordered what the owner's son recommended and it was delicious. Meats and fish.
Everyone was super nice and attentive which added a little something extra to the meal.
Don’t hesitate to go there.
