After visiting the Asklepion, we walked down to Platani and stopped at Arap for lunch. What was it good! Sitting on the terrace is lovely. Very friendly service. They proposed us a fixed menu of 6 mezzes with bread and wine, just 20 euros for 2 persons. It was so tasty and more than enough. After the lunch, we were offered a very good dessert for free. It was one of the best and cheapest meals, we had on the island of Kos. Be careful, you do not eat your fingers... From the restaurant, it is an easy walk down to Kos city.

Found by accident but what a find ! slightly out of Kos Town. We had the meze for €20 including a carafe of wine. What a bargain. There was enough to feed 4 but we polished it all off it was so yummy. Very traditional taverna and friendly server who explained all the food ingredients to us, some I’ve never had before but all was delicious. Well worth a visit.

My grandson is vegetarian, so no meat on the table if he was there, but every day we had six, seven or eight different dishes in front of us to satisfy a 16-year-old appetite. each and every dish was tastier than the other. The food is local and very fresh, with very little concession for tourists, it is Kos food at its best. I had meat the two nights that my grandson went out with other people, and once again it was delicious. We ask the owner to choose the dishes and prefer starters to mains, Meze in greek (something like Spanish tapas) .

Off the beaten path on the way to Asklepion. Stop and eat here so much better than the city and cheaper! The house Turkish salad was delicious . The pita bread was spiced with fresh herbs and soft and warm. Tzatiki had a creamy garlicky flavor yummie. The service was great atmosphere relaxing. We were given a dessert of Halvas with ice cream OMG amazing . The frappe and Greek coffee just the perfect end of a meal!

We are coming now for years - because the food is beyond great, it is divine! Always the same quality of food, always the same hospitality of the owners - every single time we went and we went quite a few again during this visit to Kos too, we feel like at home. Again we tried some of our favourites, like yogurtlu and Adana kebab, but now we have another favourite - stuffed baked tomatoes. Everything we tried was delicious.

We’ve been here for lunch on our way back from Asklepios. The restaurant is located in Platanis centre. The owner was very nice and relaxed. The food is spicy, esp compared to Greek food, but sooo good. We had tuna salat and Adana Kebap. As a little surprise we got a free halva with ice cream for dessert :)

We went several times during our stay in Kos at Arap Restaurant (Kos/Platani). The waiters are kind and very professional. Always finding a table even when the restaurant is fully booked. The food is delicious with some specialities that you do not find easily in town. The service is quick and the food is fresh. A nice place where I will definitely go back again. PS. Payment cash only.

Cool even in hot summer days thanks to vine shade. Very delicious food, prices affordable, and big thanks to Aras, the headwaiter, as our 2 years old Princess enjoyed meal with special size of cutlery..

The BEST food we had in Kos was at this restaurant. We were there for dinner on the first night of our 1-week stay, and at the end of our stay, we decided to go back again, as we missed the food so much. We ordered mostly Turkish food, and devoured them all in less than 40 minutes!! They were all so delicious, and the free desserts at the end of our meal were a great bonus! I have since learned how to make that amazing Semolina Ice cream that they served us. The service was friendly and very efficient, despite there being so many other guests. Even after leaving Kos, we were still talking about how delicious their food was. They were THAT good. You wouldn't want to miss eating here when in Kos. Highly recommended!!

Amazing local cuisine with Mezze and hospitality. This is a melting pot of Turkish and Greek history in one restaurant. It was a pleasure eating here. Courgette flowers, vine leaves, grilled veal all delicious..

On the way to Asclepius we stopped at Arap to have lunch. They had a designated place to park our bikes and we were welcomed by the owner himself. The venue was nicely decorated in a Turkish style. We ordered all kinds of authentic Greek and Turkish dishes and sauces—the owner is of Turkish origin. I also ordered Turkish coffee and it was exactly the way I like it. In my opinion, it's best to order many small meals to share, as you'll get to experience a great variety of tastes. In the end, the owner offered to serve us a Turkish dessert on the house—a nice and delicious gesture. Payment with card was not possible, so we paid with cash—a total of about €65 for an extensive lunch for 5 people. All in all, great place with great service and good food.

After looking forward to eating here, it did not live up to expectations. The waiter seemed offended and gave sarcastic answers when asked about the menu- the food was serviceable, taste was okay but mains were too cold.

Arap never fails to impress us! A beautiful hidden gem in the Turkish quarter, BUT don't be alarmed it's only a 5 minute taxi ride from Kos town which makes it an even better kept secret. The food is exquisite and some of the best meze on the island with Greek and Turkish options. As someone that travels the world I'm very particular about restaurants, so the service and friendliness of the owners is as important as the quality of the food. Arap ticks all these boxes! The food will have you coming back for more and every bite is overwhelmingly good. I recommend the Tzatziki (probably the biggest plate you will get in Kos... Maybe Greece!), the courgette flowers with rice (you can also get with cheese), Yoglurti (that can only be described as aubergine potatoes and other grilled veg covered in luxurious yoghurt) and the OKRA (the OKRA is so good it should be illegal). Pair all of this with the house wine served in a 0.5L carafe with small glasses (you may order more than one!). Enjoy!!!
