I returned to Lefkos after 10 Years as I was looking to check on the good memory I had from Taverna Ammos. this time I went there for lunch (diner time is more busy and you'd better make a reservation). The overall atmosphere of the small and cosy place near the harbor, with its tables placed under the shadow of some old trees and a few others under the terrace, hadn't changed at all. Like 10 years ago I ordered the "Stuffed Calamari", a dish that I remembered as outstanding and so much different in taste than all the regular calamari dishes you can get anywhere else on the island. To my great delight, I was not disappointed in the least. Not by the exceptional cooking, nor by the professional and warmhearted service. Starting from the excellent bread with green olive paste, the perfect preparation of the main course (not only the calamari, bit also the amazing side salad made of I think slices of crab or shrimp, carrots and celery) to the little gifts that Alex and his mother are serving their guests for free: One or two liquors, fresh fruits and finally their homemade jam. I hope it won't take another 10 years to come back to this great place which still stands for a traditional Karpathian cuisine and doesn't seem to be seems unimpressed by the increasingly commercial and tourist hustle and bustle in Lefkos.

Nestled along the breathtaking Aegean coast, this hidden gem of a seafood tavern offers an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you arrive, the panoramic view of the sparkling beach and the endless expanse of the Aegean Sea will leave you breathless.
The tavern itself boasts a charming atmosphere, with (describe the ambiance - whitewashed walls, colorful accents, seafaring decor). The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive, making you feel right at home.
But the true star of the show is the seafood. The menu features a delightful array of fresh catches, showcasing the bounty of the Aegean. We savored grilled octopus, succulent mussels, flavorful saganaki. Every bite was a burst of freshness and expertly prepared.
This was truly a dining experience that went beyond just a meal. It was a chance to soak in the beauty of the Aegean while indulging in the region's culinary treasures. I highly recommend this tavern to anyone seeking an unforgettable evening of delicious food, breathtaking views, and warm hospitality.

Excellent food. Typical tavern and really friendly staff. The best Karpathian fried shrimps on the island. I ordered sea food, both fried and grilled...everything was excellent. And the final shot of "Karpathian water" they use to offer brings lunch to a friendly end. I'll come back for shure.

We came for lunch and were told that 'we couldn't sit down because we 'would wet the chairs for the evening guests'.Baring in mind that this restaurant is situated right next to the beach and we arrived at 1.30pm (and it was only our kids who were slightly wet) we were shocked and surprised at this remark and needless to say didn't stay.
This was our second visit to this restaurant and although the waiter seemed grumpy on our first visit, we put it down to him having a bad day and thought we would give him the benefit of the doubt.
It costs nothing to be nice and with plenty of other amazing restaurants around Lefkos, we will never return here again.

Today was my saddest day in a long time in my restaurant experience. I did preodered big lobster and imaginated a farwel diner, which end up in very destroyed and unpleasant experiene. Lobster was hard like a rock,tasted overdried chicken filer ,i told the owner and his mom . They did not react just charged 160 euros and that was it! All food is dry over there and just basic apetazers you can oder they are ok- dont go in to eat fine things. Please dont , you will be angry and waist your money! Owner ,he dont care how you feel anyway!

Incredible bad experience: My friend and I were asked to leave the restaurant yesterday.
The owner stated: you are visitor to an other restaurant in Lefkos-for you my restaurant is closed. Ammos is only open for Ammos clients!

Cannot give a single star because of the outrageously rude "service". Asked if we could get something to drink and maybe some ice cream. Response was "We are a restaurant, we don't serve icecream". And it says in their name "restaurant" AND "cafe". Apparently they don't need customers. The place was half empty...

Must try in Lefkos! We come here every day. Fresh fish, good meat and you always get some treats from the nice lady. And let’s not forget about the great service by Alex! We love it.

Like the owner Alex always says: “everything is big in the Ammos restaurant” it was today again very big! And not only big but also very good of taste. We really like the atmosphere of this nice restaurant. And because it is always full it says enough to us. Simply the best!

A nice little taverna, lovely atmosphere, and the service and food were really, really good.
A perfect evening. It's often said that you find hidden gems on the outskirts of villages, but in this case, the true gem is in the middle of the village.

Staff was ok, but food wasn't that great. My wife and I don't eat pork. We ordered chicken but the taste was more like pork. Only free served raki was savior from 1 star

Amazingly prepared fresh seafood.. we had the octopus, grilled calamari, baby shrimp, karpathian salad fresh home made french fries, grilled vegetables,karpathian sardines… great service… simply the best!!!

We had the pleasure of eating at this family driven restaurant four times in a week, Alex, his mom the crew and of course the kitchen staff delivered absolutely outstanding meals every time we came.
The friendliness and the atmosphere was second to none.
Raki and other goodies were handed out and we all felt to be part of the family. We will be back. Viking & Vife
