Tasty authentic Cretan food, the only restaurant we visited twice during our week stay in Mykonos. Staff are friendly and helpful. Large portions and reasonably priced, recommend the kebabs.

If you have tired of the ambient Euro-trance music piped endlessly through the sea-front establishments of downtown Ornos (in fact, anywhere in Mykonos), here is a local taverna of the old school, parked (as it should be) on the roadside in the heart of town,...rather than on the beach. The food is similarly traditional and of a high quality and comes in large quantities at a very reasonable price. There is piped music, but it is Greek piped music - fiddles and pipes etc - and the taverna is apparently much frequented by locals, many of them both young and decorative.More

Our fantastic server Fotis gave us great food and drink recommendations. Lively and fun atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the Raki!

We had two main courses, Cretan Lamb and Mussels - bot were very tasty and filling. Each course cost 16 euros which was not that expensive especially considering it was on Mykonos. The service was good and the surroundings quite pleasant although those customers who...sat at the front of the restaurant had to put up with the passing traffic which went by just the other side of the wall.More

Not expensive, super fresh products, tasty food. Probably the best local restaurant in town, congratulations! P.D: Try the shrimps in tomato sauce (unbelievable)

Spent hours enjoying ourselves! The service from Fotis was phenomenal, and we didn’t have a bad bite to eat: the Cretan sautéed lamb, the lamb chops, and the grilled octopus. They’ve got Ouzo, and, for those brave enough, Raki. Really started bumpin’ around 11:45p/12a.

We have just spent a month island hopping, and the food for us peaked in Ornos, and it started with this restaurant. It’s very come as you are, real, and filled with Greek customers, local and otherwise. Portions are a tad on the large side,...food is scrumptious. Chicken tender and tasty, melted, and lamb kofta soft and so tasty. They serve with greens on the side, can’t even describe it but so delicious. Not formal, totally casual. The food, from start to finish, speaks for itself. It’s local and excellent. Service, slow by European standards, but relax, it’s worth the wait!More

If you like your food swimming in oil, lacking in taste, service that just ignores you and trying to be charged for things that were never delivered to you, then thus is the place. It looked really busy, but I know now that was because...of the terrible service. We had a good view of the kitchen, where we observed staff were smoking whilst preparing food. On the plus side the wine was cheapMore

Not all tourists are mean and disrespectful to the locals. Here, the eldest gentleman had the greatest service mindset. There is a huge gab between the food and the service, the first one is excellent!

Mpalothies was the greatest surprise of our trip. We got there by chance because we were staying at Ornos and it ended up being the best place we had food in Mykonos. It's far away from the city center but it's worth the trip. Also...specialized in Cretan cuisine, it's a genuine jewel off of the beaten track with the most authentic and delicious food. Great prices also.More

Very typical local family owned restaurant. Cretan food at great price/value. They serve very large portions, so better order less. You will find a lot of locals there every night and the atmosphere is lively and relaxed. Do not expect a romantic setting, the restaurant...tends to be noisy from the street and guests and has no view. If you are looking for great authentic food at very reasonable prices and like to be among locals go for it.More

Terrible food & service. We had starters and main course but we left most of our food behind us as it was inedible. We simply paid for the bill and had to go to another restaurant.

My fiance and I are still shocked and felt that I needed to also add my review to this restaurant. After a really nice day in our holiday we were super excited to go to dinner at what we thought was was a traditional Greek...restaurant. When we went to place our order we were served by what looked to be the manager or owner of the restaurant as he was an older man with long hair not wearing what the other waiters were wearing and looked to be giving orders to other waiters hence thought he was of authority. My partner simply asked a question about the menu and the waiter abruptly said "what does it say, what does it say!" at first we both thought maybe its a miscommunication thing but after she pointed to the point in the menu to assist him he said again WHAT DOES IT SAY, WHAT DOES IT SAY at this stage we both knew he was being very aggressive and rude and I saw my fiances face and could tell that she was super uncomfortable and embarrassed and I said to this person in a calm way as I was just as shocked at what just happened and didn't fully process it. I said to the waiter that she was just asking a question there is no need to be rude he then pointed around the restaurant showing its busy and got immediately aggressive and told us to get out and said this is now me being rude. Yes, he actually kicked my partner and I out of the restaurant. We could not believe it and still cannot believe it and there were people all around. I am happy we took the mature route and didn't cause even more of a scene as this person was absolutely terrible. I wish I scrolled down the reviews before going to this restaurant as I truly believe a lot of reviews here are not proper valid reviews however if you scroll down the real reviews are revealed. If you are a person that reads reviews to get recommendations trust me when I say to avoid this restaurant, if we weren't in a good mood it would of probably wrecked our night however we went down the road to the beach restaurant and turned out amazing.More
