Location and contact

In the center of the old town, opposite the historical Minare, our traditional family tavern Rakodikio is situated. Since 2006, every noon with mom's home-made food and in the evenings with delicious Cretan cuisine, and of course with a lot of good raki!

We had lunch here. They have tables both inside and outside. Outside they have a “curtain” so the sun does not get too hot. The chairs are the typical greek chairs with string seats. Very narrow so you do not sit there for hours. It...More

I visited the place at the end of Feb.'19 . All these greek / cretan food small tavernas in the old town , most probably will be very touristic in the summer time . However this does not mean that they do not offer a...More

We had been recommended this place by the barman at Bricks Beerhouse. We were hoping for moussaka but unfortunately we were too late and it had all gone so we went for a Greek salad for 2 and a few different meze dishes all of...More

This is one of the many bars and restaurants in the old town of Rethymnon. This one can be found on a little lane just around the corner from the Rimondi fountain. Service is efficient, the staff are friendly and the prices are fair. Handy...More

The restaurant we visited the most mainly because of the fantastic variety of dishes on offer. Just when you think you’ve got a handle on the menu then they have specials & extra dishes on a lunch time. Everything is very reasonably priced meaning it’s...More

We loved the dakos salad, favas beans and tzatziki. Pleasant ambiance on a quiet street next to a mosque.

This restaurant has a cute retro-chic interieur, reminiscent of a living room. The relaxed ambiente inside may be spoiled somewhat if it is very busy though. For us the place was medium/full (7 pm) and service was flawless and attentive. Only one baby chair, though,...More

We went here after reading reviews. The food was ok - cheap but not great - and the service was poor. We were left with our empty plates for ages and had to ask to have them taken away. Which I suppose is a change...More

This restaurant has most tables outside. The menu has many different specialties. And as an extra a plate of the day, freshmade. We liked the snails very much and the special plate: meat with eg ginger and patatoes. Good food, nice prices!
