What a fantastic Greek food experience! Beautiful setting. Very helpful waiters. Super service and the food was the best we ve had all week here in Rethymno. Good Cretan cuisine. The lamb dishes were excellent. Plenty of veggie dishes too.

This is a fantastic place for Greek cuisine. Our waiter was very helpful and prompt. I ordered lamb and asked for it to be made spicy. He said he would ensure it was made with garlic oil which did make it taste amazing!! The children...had chicken carbonara which was good too and my partner who is vegetarian had a veg pizza which was simply fantastic and super tasty. All this without costing an arm and a leg...More
Very good food and service. Big portions with natural local ingredients and very good service that will walk yoiu through menu
This restaurant was friendly and located in a nice old town street. The menu did include seafood and vegetarian dishes but they were disappointing. The people ordering meat dishes seemed happy with their food.
Last minute decision to come here as had been let down by 1st choice. Service was s wee bit chaotic ( it was busy) but very friendly. The food was good enough without being memorable.
This is an absolute gem of a restaurant tucked away down a little side street. Although it was busy, we were lucky enough to get a table straight away. There are a wide selection of dishes on the menu to choose from and all four...of us thoroughly enjoyed our choices. This was a popular place that was consistently busy and the staff worked hard to provide great service to all of their customers. This place would definitely be top of my list to visit if I ever return to Rethymnon.More
A lovely taverna with friendly staff and great food! The staff were very chatty which we loved and were easy to have a laugh with. I couldn’t recommend the food enough… I had a chicken dish which was delicious!! My partner had the mixed grill...which is really enjoyed! Very reasonably priced too!More
A cozy place on the street under a green roof of plants. Delicious food, large portions. Cool green parrot in a cage.
The majority of the food we ordered was bland. The menu didn’t describe the food so had to guess what we had ordered. Margarita pizza was salty and had little tomato sauce on. Very dry mixed grill. Overall would spend the money elsewhere. Nice location,...average food! Worth the extra 10 metres to go to Sofra next doorMore
We had a nixe dinner here. The location is nice, prices are average. I agree with what others said about the fact that the person who greets guests is very concerned on getting as many guests sitted as possible and that is it. I noticed...him trying to convince 2 tourists to eat there, she wanted to, but he didn't, and when they left, he gave him a very ugly look as they turned around. But that is the only downside. Our food was good and delicious. I had some lamb chops, which were some of the best I had several times I was in Greece ( sorry, I don't have a picture) My wife had the catch of the day, file. It didn't came file, which surprised us, but then someone from the staff came and fileed it in front of her. We found that funny. The fish was delicious, however.More
Lovely location. My partner ordered a pasta dish without cheese and it came with cheese on it. By the time he got served the correct dish I had finished. The food is cheap and average at best. I agree with previous reviews about the copious...amounts of oil on the food. I also agree the family who run the restaurant seem to be more concerned with getting more customers than giving the ones they've already got good service. Wouldn't really recommend. I think there are nicer places in rethymon.More
Our hotels offerings for our evening meal forced us to eat out most nights. We ate the sharing meat platter at Taverna Stavros on our first night out and we thought it was amazing although probably somewhat clouded by the fact until then, our food...in hotel restaurant had been terrible. Bread and olives to start followed by a plate of chicken fillets, souvlaki, burger (meatball) and gyros, the yogurt stuff beginning with a “T”, pitta, chips, salad, 2x beers, house desert of Raki, Greek yogurt and biscuit for <€40. Great service. When we returned for the second time the following week and ordered the same, we were stuck in a corner bordering Sofra (the restaurant next door) by a different waiter and generally forgotten about. We didn’t even get proper plates to eat off. The plates already on the table were covered in vegetation from the overhanging vines and the waiter had blown on them as we sat down (Eeeeee - especially in the age of Covid), nobody asked how it was, it was a far less enjoyable experience and after sitting for what seemed like an age we had to actively go hunting for someone to get the bill. No house desert or Raki that people further up the restaurant were getting for us. Great once. Average second time and probably wouldn’t do a third.More
Really good food, environment is lovely. Prices are really competitive. Bill took quite a while to come out so it took a bit of time to leave, but food was served quickly
Everything was perfect! They’re so nice and friendly. The meals we‘re big and great! Definitely recommend! Go there guys!
Had a stunning meal at Stavros. My husband had shrimp a la creme I had chicken a la creme, we also had 2 glasses of red winei had a bottle of white wine both were lovely. The staff were most welcoming. Didn't rush us when...we were having our meal. Would definitely go again. Try it for yourself and make your own mind upMore
