- trully cretan traditional local taverna - tasteful red wine - must try "sheperds' salad" and apaki omeleta - sometimes local traditional orchestra is a must listen (cretan music) - fried cuccini balls were draftly cooked - fried cheesepies were with a slice of cheese

A small restaurant run by a family. Not in the city centre, so very limited number of tourists. Very nice atmosphere and very good food. Life music in the weekends.

We are big fans of Kritiki music, and have had a good time at this café in the past – in fact, I gave it a recommendation in my blog article on Kritiki. But not this time. As we are staying in Panormos, we got the bus into Rethmynon, to eat and to go to Mesostratis (45 minutes each way,... More

I've been several times to this place with my friends and we've had the best expirience!!The reasons we prefer it are the quality and the delicious plates, the hospitality of the place, the atmosphere, and the live cretan mousic!!Many local people visit this place every day and the food is really homemade! Don't miss it!!

When I came in this taverna (ταβέρνα) for the first time and ordered, try to order yoghurt with honey and homemade cheese pies, I thought that the woman who worked there (and probably owns the place together with her husband, it's family business), well I thought she would kill me with a miquelett flint-flock kubur, old Greek pistol or something,... Great value for your money, finally not a touristy place, yet in a frequented corner in the city. The service is also really good :) Absolutely recommended!

Plain store. Politeness. Simplicity. Good Cretan raki. Good service, hospitality. It was a convivial evening shared with friends. The owners are very polite. I think that it is the best store of it's category in town.
