Delicious food. Beautiful flavors and no overcrowded plates. Food prepared with craftsmanship.
Starter started with the 2 person bowl of cold dishes. The spicy cheese salad was delicious. Our six-year-old daughter enjoyed a delicious meal with us.
Then a risotto with mushrooms and eggplant dish 'saganaki'.
Including wine, water and two cocktails we spent €75.

This jewel of a restaurant is not to be missed, an absolute must..
Situated close to the Venetian Harbour, overlooking the sea and next door to the wonderful Hotel Ideon you really must give it a try.
Professionally run.
The food was just mouth watering without question
The waiting staff were all very attentive without being obtrusive, all very polilte
Very smartly dressed. Nothing was too much for them, we were made to feel quite special.
The restaurant is immaculate
It has an upmarket but friendly atmosphere
We will definately be revisiting next time we are in Reythmnon

Everything we were looking for, as a foodies family with a 17 year old: Stylish place, nice view outside over the harbour and the sea, excellent wine and food, seasoned with the perfect service with a smile. It’s more of an experience than a restaurant, although they understand cuisine and hospitality very well.
It’s also located near the (small/slow) city road, but the terrace is positioned slightly higher so this was never a problem. It’s a bit of a corner with more popular bars and restaurants that are also visited by locals and tourists alike.
The menu has a lot of options “from the land and from the sea”. We had some of their bestsellers, which did not disappoint at all, on the contrary! In our case it were the mushroom risotto, the seafood linguine, and the seabass filet. All presented nicely. All good portions, where the linguine is even a big one. The tastes all revealed very good culinairy craftsmanship, where the melon sauce that went with the seabass filet was an even more special and pleasant surprise.
The staff is rather young, but they are very (very!) friendly in a discrete and professional way. We even liked the (English) menu’s simple typography, layout and legend.
If you are looking for the same, it’s impossible to get disappointed by this place and crew.

Unfortunately, we only visited it for the first time on the third evening, right next to our hotel. Everything was simply excellent. Super friendly and unobtrusive service. Got a lovely outdoor seating area with a view of the sea. The food was really great, the taste was simply top notch. Super tender, juicy meat, great seasoned side dishes and sauces. The dessert - what can I say - simply fantastic. Really great food at normal prices. Other restaurants charge more here, but can't keep up in terms of quality. Unreserved recommendation. We'll definitely be back.

This is a relatively new restaurant next to the Ideon Hotel in Rethymno.
We ate there once during our stay and were impressed by the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. The chef is passionate about his food and this reflects in the menu with a list of all the authentic Cretan and Greek produce he uses.
We started with the tasting platter for four people. This looked and tasted very good with various cheeses, meats and dips for us to try.
The mains were good with one stand out dish, the pork tenderloin and fig sauce with aromatic potato puree.
I can envisage this restaurant becoming one of the top ones in a few years time.

One thing is the meal it self; you must go and tast the flavours you think you like, and you will be suprised; becase it will taste different and better. Food for you that dare to try. The plates were really nice presented, and yes; it was enough food! And second; The service was exellent, and we had a lot of fun with our waiter for the evening. All of you at work to night took good care of us. Hopefully a lot of lokals and tourists will come. Thank you for making our dinner a special memory for life.

We had marinated vegetables salad and appetizers. The mushrooms sautéed were great, I especially liked the king oyster mushrooms. The bread was homemade and fresh. This place only opened in 2021 and is picking up momentum! They also have an adjacent hotel that looks very nice. It is near the fortress and shore line.

There are hundreds of restaurants in Rethymno, more of the same. But there are some hidden gems where ambition, service and quality stick out. Where everything is made with a twist that take the food to next level, Arbona is like that. We tried grilled tuna with carbonara couscous. Innovative and excellent.

If you are visiting Rethymno, this restaurant definitely needs to be on your list. Walking one evening, we stumbled across this lively terrace on the sea front and decided to sit down for dinner. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. If by luck the lamb is still on the menu when you visit, do not hesitate and go for it! Excellent place to share food with some excellent Cretan wine with friends.

We were delighted to come across this place after a long string of uninspiring busy tourist traps that all looked more or less the same. Arbona has excellent food, modern Greek fare, some very good wines (i was impressed by the Moscato spinas white wine from Crete), and excellent and friendly service. A big plus is that it is out of the way from the parts of the boulevard that are cramped with tourists but still offers a good view of the sea.

This has to be one of the very best restaurants in Rethymnon.
We went with friends for a birthday dinner.
It was outstanding. Don't expect your typical Greek Taverna instead think modern European with Greek twist.
The service and food was truly outstanding, In fact it was faultless.
We can't wait to go back.

We dined here next to our hotel. The food is reasonably priced. Service was efficient and the local Cretan dishes were generous and very tasty. Wine also good and reasonable.
