We went here for our last night in Crete to celebrate a wonderful holiday. We went based on the reviews in TA but were bitterly disappointed. The main feature of Crete is that the Cretans appear to like us Brits. If they don't the hide...More

We got recommended several restaurants by our hotel, among others To Pigadi and Avli (opposed of this restaurant). The ambience of this place is beyond. The food is brilliantly greek creative. The service is great as it feels like they are part owner of the...More

Walking through the old town looking for somewhere for lunch came across this restaurant also know as 'The Well'. From the outside its looks expensive but it wasn't, the family run business provides excellent Cretan dishes in an outdoor setting.

We ate as a party of 4 - two were locals involved in the hospitality trade whose principal concern was the lack of locals eating, and the fact that the salad was smaller than they were used to - but they are generally critical anyway....More

The meal was quite good not overly priced again they charge too much for wine, staff were lovely and the setting was great, set back in a court yard

The restaurant is on the site where once stood a Venetian building which was linked to the residence on the south side through a doorway. It is believed that where the covered dining area stands was once a large storeroom and animal stable. The dining courtyard was indeed a courtyard and animal feeding area. In 2003 the chef and owner Harris Pavlakis decided to open the restaurant. The restaurant serves traditional local and greek dishes with local products and provides a friendly and romantic atmosphere. Our restaurant is certificated for Cretan Cuisine from The Greek Academy Of Taste and has won 2 gold medals one in the 9th contest of Cretan Traditional Cooking and the other in the 6th contest of Cretan Traditional Cooking.
