This bar / restaurant was at the end of a long walk around the old town for us and proved a great watering hole. We were made welcome very quickly and seated at a table with an incredible view.
From here, you can see over...the old town going to the beach and the harbour which is absolutely lovely. The ice cold beers were much appreciated as with a delicious crisps as we had worked up an appetite.
The waitress was excellent and even offered to bring us more crisps as we finished the original one so quickly!
Great fun and we will be heading back there.More
Superb view, very good food, and especially a great red wine served as a glass. Only a minus, we got not dessert nor raki after a meal, the only time it happened after two weeks spent in Rethymnon, and after we tried, maybe, 15 restaurants......But definitely a very nice evening in this restaurant.More
Found this place whilst visiting the local castle ruin. The returant sits on the cliff overlooking harbour and sea and is set out over 3/4 levels cascading down the cliff. During the day the restaurant is therefore bathed in cooling breezes which sets it apart...from the other resturants in the local area. The views are fantastic too. The food is simple but there is lots of it and I can recommend the shrimp.
At night the place transforms into a resturant and separate drinks only area and becomes very popular around sunset for very obvious reasons.
Prices are lower than you will pay in the very centre of the town which is a bonus and makes the walk to it worth while. Note, that this place does its best to be wheel chair friendly but bear in mind it is on a cliff so not that easy to get to.More
Food was good, but - and this seemed a pattern at Cretan restaurants - asking for the bill was always acknowledged, but ignored the first few times! Even on receipt of the bill, it took ages to find a member of staff to pay. Maybe...a culture thing, or maybe we tended to eat slightly earlier than average and by the time we were ready to pay, the restaurant was focused on serving new clientele. Nice location though.More
To be honest, I wouldn’t have cared less about the food, because I was so in love with the view!
Multiple cliff side terraces cascading down. Almost every table has a gorgeous view!
Friendly service and the regular menu offered in almost every restaurant in...town .
Food was fine, prices incredibly fair considering the location !
I was there during the day when you can look over the harbor and really enjoy the deep blue sea pounding against the feet of the fort. It’s high enough to enjoy a welcome breeze.
I can imagine it would be very romantic at night with all the twinkling lights. I would think you would have to dress for the wind though.More
We ate a sallad and a risotto. The sallad was drowned in dressing and the risotto was not risotto, it was just normal cooked rice in broth, taste was good but it was not risotto. But anyway we had a great evening, the are and...the view is fantastic.More
Had dinner with our friend there, overlooking the port and Cretan Sea - which already ensures a great setting. We ordered their organic white wine (excellent) and a mix of everything recommended for that day - risotto, Mediterranean salad, sardines, and mussles. The portions were...large and really delicious. We have rarely been disappointed on Crete, but this was more than an unexpected pleasant surprise because the dishes were much better than anticipated and surpassed our expectations and hopes by far. The services is very welcoming, fast, and not pushy at all. Highly recommended place, in every aspect: people, cuisine, and setting.More
