Neighbourhood star. Cheap local cuisine. Friendly waiters. Wine is either red or white. Charming courtyard. Menu somewhat limited.

The food was okey but not more. Thought it would be much better. The talapi cheese use to have more taste. The snails didn't taste much so im dissapointed.

Big portions in a reasonable price. The food is amazing. We have tried the Kotsi and the “piato tis apistias” ! The taste.... that taste I can’t describe it because you have to try it ;) Five stars from me!

Every time there, the food is lovely, with a menu that being Mediterranean and Cretan has a twist being different but delicious

We tried here for dinner and found it an interesting experience. The setting is pleasant, outside under a tree, but they don’t start service until after 7pm. It seems that they only have about half of what is listed on the menu but even so,...there are some interesting offerings. We chose the almond dip with flat bread and the cabbage leaves stuffed with minced meat and rice. Partly because there was little else available and also because we wished to try something truly Cretan but a little different. Both were good although the bread offered with the meal was very ordinary and there was no olive oil or vinegar provided. The house red was was ok.More

Vourvouladiko is near the new Cultural Center of Heraklion at walking distance from the city center (approx 15 min walk from the Lion's square; Be careful not to get lost in the little streets. Better to go Kalokairinou ave, and then left to the pedestrian...street Monis Kardiotissis. The restaurant is on the left-hand side at the end of the street). Advised to make reservation in advance. The food is excellent. All dishes are tasty with good quality local ingredients. Try stuffed cabbage leaves (dolmades), keftedes with peas, faba, kotsi (pork feet in the oven), very interesting salads etc. Only house wine is served which could actually be improved. The desert at the end kindly offered by the owner (Mrs Gogo). The prices good. Highly recommended as one of the best restaurants in Heraklion regarding environment and taste!More
