Went here with friends from England who travelled to Crete with us some years ago, this October we were out with friends who live in Crete, we had spent some time with them that day in our hotel pool but decided to go out for...dinner in the evening.
We left the choice of venue to the local knowledge of our friends Dimitra and Ersi, sisters who have lived all their lives in Crete know some fantastic places to dine.
They tole us of a restaurant with amazing food and spectacular views, after a short and quite familiar drive we found ourselves back at this lovely restaurant and were very pleased with their choice after our previous experience there.
Though we had not booked we were lucky enough to get a table overlooking the bay and sea though after a short time it became to dark to really appreciate the magnificent views but we have seen them before so that was no big issue for us,
A large table close to a couple of tables catering for a Polish couple who had just got married and their guests, lovely friendly people.
The food took the appropriate time to be served (too quickly implies a lot of pre-pared components and too slow implies the kitchen being overworked and rushing orders.
As before the food orders were excellent both in quality ingredients, presentation, quantity and taste.
This is an exceptional restaurant on all points that matter, close to the beaches, exceptional views, great seating, good table space with some tables that could only be classed as VIP albeit I don't think you need to be a VIP to be sat there.
We look forward to our next visit there, our two friends myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our visit, I had the misfortune to leave my hotel room key at the restaurant but a quick visit the next day to find that our key had been found and kept secure inside the restaurant for us to collect with the staff remembering us from the night before.More
We went to saradiri for lunch twice during our week stay at nearby Royal mare hotel. love the location, the view over the bay, great decor and lay out, the friendly service - but most of all the food. Over our 2 visits we had zucchini...croquettes, fava bean, dorada fish on the bone, shrimp spaghetti and grilled sardines- all really good and well presented., congratulations to all the staff - and if it wasn't for the fact that our plane back to Ireland leaves in a few hours would be only too happy to go back again) (maybe next year. Wonderful to see great women chefs in kitchen. )More
This restaurant is a pearl among the cliffs and rocks of the seaside. The restaurant has neatly dressed staff and the atmosphere is quite modern and classy compared to other restaurants in the area.
The shrimp saganaki appetizer is to die for and Mushroom risotto...for main dish was the cherry on top.
The restaurant is next to a really great beach (water is crystal clear) and they know this. They have a staff present during the day at the beach, which will fetch you drinks from the restaurant if you're thirsty.
The rent out beach beds for 4 euros each so you dont have to lay on your blanked in the sand.More
The food was absolutely delicious the service superb. The only negative was that the music was played way too high even though we requested on several occasions to lower it the guy controlling it could be seen smirking & raising it. Disappointing to see he...could be so disrespectful to customers & letting his colleagues down.More
We visited here whilst on holiday and enjoyed dinner one evening over looking the bay (watching the full moon rise is great)
Food was all very good as were the drinks but where we were sat (in between a load of crying babies) was the...only let down as there was space for us elsewhere. But this is the only let down. The staff were great and the service was good.
I would recommend phoning you as you can book some really cosy tables and at night the place lit up looks great.More
Been here two days in a row. During the first day, out of everything we tried, we liked seafood risotto (good thick and rich sauce and a lot of seafood), pork chop and fish burger.
Next day we took the same dishes, but it hasn't...been anywhere near the same. Risotto sauce seemed to be heavily diluted with water. Secondly, two of us took pork chops: one of them was heavily overcooked and dry, other one was good and juicy. Also tried mussels, which were XXS sized (±1cm).
What comes to staff, then helper is very clumsy. Among other things, while collecting our plates he spoiled our raki and said 'sorry' without compensating it.
On the other hand 'Semifreddo' desert was good.More
