We were staying at the Elounda Akti Olous which is attached to this restaurant. The setting is superb with beautiful views. The service is excellent along with the food. The staff are very attentive and I have already recommended to friends who are due out next month. The fish was filleted to perfection unlike Megaro fish restaurant in Elounda! We will absolutely be back.

We stayed for a week at Akti Olous Hotel. As we arrived we had our first contact with the restaurant, their tasty food and friendly personnel. The food was amazing. We tried everything in Elounda(which was pretty good, don’t get me wrong) but we decided to eat almost every night here. The atmosphere is perfect, their chef really “speeks” food, and the waiters will definitey make your day! I dare you to engage with the personnel, they are funny, not intrusive, extremely kind & generous. They have never mistaken our order, and we received some attentions like desserts, fruits and others. It’s nice to see how they have the energy to make everybody that chooses their restaurant feel at home. Very hard working people, 8 days so far in which they worked from the morning to midnight, but they still take the time to drink a small and traditional raki with you before you leave. I only know the name of one of them (Toni) but I would like to mention each and every one of them, we really appreciated their professionalism. I will stop here, as I think I have made my point. Thank tou Blue Sea Restaurant, thank you Akti Olous Hotel! P.S. Give those guys a raise😃 Vlad

We ate at this restaurant 6 years ago as guests of the hotel. The food and service were good then and nothing has changed. We called in for lunch and I asked for a simple dish of Caesar Salad, simple I say but no one else could be bothered to go off menu and provide this for me, we had tried several restaurants prior to calling here. When it arrived it was perfect, my husband ate a chicken wrap which he also said was delicious. Ten out of Ten for customer service and very tasty food. In a beautiful setting with all seats overlooking the sea. Dont walk past without trying, you wont be disappointed.

We decided to give the Blue Sea a go as we were staying at the Akti Olous Hotel which is part of it. The food was OK but nothing special compared to a lot of the other tavernas we visited in Elounda. E.g. the lamb shank I had was unfortunately dry and tasteless. Also, as the restaurant area was quite closed up due to the wind, some inconsiderate people thought it was OK to smoke. I took it upon myself to tell one person if he would please not smoke as people around him were eating to which he replied "There is an ashtray on the table and I am on my holidays so I will smoke if I want!" Therefore it maybe it would be a good idea for ashtrays not to be placed on the tables when it is a more sheltered, closed up environment and then people will have to stand on the main street if they want a cigarette!

Cold food and even colder customer service response. This was our third meal. The first two were excelent, having the huge tasty pork chop and grilled prawns. Tonight we treated ourselves yo the Seafood Apertiser for two at €47. When the platter arrived it looked pretty good, but on starting our meal we discovered that most of the seafood was cold or at best luke warm. The squid was stone cold, the shellfish were tepid, the prawns were luke warm. Now to be fair to the resteraunt, we were eating out on the covered glass enclosed deck over the sea and it was windy. But the dining plates were not warmed, neither was the serving plate. I beleive that the food was not served to us straight away, and should have been served on hot plates. What was more upsetting was the staffs attitude when we pointed out our food was cold. We got the 'what do you expect eating outside!' ( air temp at the time 26c) and the, well you can eat prawns cold' The only offer we got was to re heat the seafood in front of us.. which would have ruined it even more. We thought ok , this resteraunt is used to great compliments and maybee the waiting staff are not good with critacism. So after the meal , which we paid for, we immediately spoke to the resteraunt/hotel manager in good faith that he would appreciate the feedback. We were so disappointed when his response was exactly the same as the serving staff ' what do you expect...' What we expect is food served at least medium hot when it arrives and on hot plates.

We were staying at the hotel where this restaurant is and what a way to spend our first night! The jetty goes out into the sea and it’s just bliss. The menu, service, food are all of a professional standard and tasted absolutely delicious. The choice on the menu is good and the portions were of a good size. It’s a MUST visit..... granted it’s about a 10min walk from the centre..... but this for us makes it better as it’s quieter and feels more relaxed.

We visited Blue Sea six times during our June 2024 holiday. On every occasion the welcome by Michalis, the service and the food were excellent. Dining on a short promontory over the beautiful turquoise sea as dusk falls and watching the fish feed on any spare bread shared by fellow diners was magical. We splashed out one evening with fish cooked specially for us but we equally enjoyed beef cheek with orzo risotto, grilled calamari, octopus stifado, sardines, lamb shank and many others. The pulled pork spring roll, grilled haloumi, deep fried squid with squid ink mayonnaise and feta in filo with honey were just some of the starters we enjoyed. With delicious bread and olive oil to start, a good local white or rose wine, complementary dessert, this was our favourite restaurant in Elounda. The staff are welcoming and efficient, linen napkins, modern crockery, it’s a very special place.

Consider yourself out of luck if you find yourself at a table at Blue Sea. We regretted the entire experience from an unfriendly waiter to severely overcooked tuna (even after sending it back for a new one) and the tourist trap of putting complementary bread on the bill. Waiter did not care one bit about my feedback. He dared to call the fish medium cooked and explained the bread surcharge by mentioning the troubles of serving us the bread in the first place. Skip this place. Crete has so many true gems to discover.

Very good, but watch out for the prices, we choose a bar for 19 € on the menu, it presents us a fish to cook, we validate. At the end, score from 136 € to 3, for 1 fish, some vegetables and 1 bottle of local wine! In fact, the fish was 70 €/kg! Except that we were not informed! Anyway, they ripped us off! So get the price confirmed beforehand!

This restaurant is fabulous. It is located at the sea edge and part of it stretches into the sea, where your tables are surrounded on three sides by the water. They have screens for when it is windy or rough. The staff are extremely friendly and the service is excellent. Now the food. I can honestly say that the meal we had was the best meal I have ever had. We had a grilled sardine starter that was beautiful. It was larger than we expected and in a sauce that tasted fantastic. I think for many people that would have been enough as a lunch in itself. Then we had grilled sea bream, and grilled sea bass respectively. These were both cooked to perfection and you could taste the freshness. These had chips that were excellent and a sauce on the side. We couldn’t fault it in any way. The waiter even prepared one fish at the table, removing all of the bones for my partner who wasn’t keen on seeing the whole fish on the plate! They gave us a sweet ( ice cream) on the house, that were three euros each, and also a bread and dipping oil starter free as well. All in all a fantastic place to eat, with outstanding food and great friendly staff. Would recommend 100%.

To be honest, we didn’t know what to expect when we booked dinner at the Blue Sea restaurant last week. It looked like so many of the other waterfront tavernas that line the beach in Elounda. But we ended up having a delicious meal at the end of the small jetty that forms the restaurant’s seating area. The Blue Sea restaurant is quite a long walk from the town centre, so the crowds are less here, and the whole feel of the place is more relaxed. The staff were charming, helpful, welcoming and professional. The beef carpaccio starter was, quite simply, fabulous, the prawns were beautifully cooked and the wines that we drank were delicious. We loved the place, and if you are looking for somewhere on this bit of coast that gives you good food, a warm welcome and personal attention do give it a try. It was so good that we went back 3 days later.

Wonderful place by the sea with tables on the pier over the bay. The service is excellent and the food outstanding with a great mix of cretian cuisine: vegetables, fish, and seafood, and of course, the whole revisited in a modern manner! The staff is very friendly and attentive and the owner is kind and funny….loved it! This was our favorite restaurant from the entire week! 🤩😎👍

An excellent restaurant with great food and wonderful wine list. The chefs create superb dishes of very high standard in this restaurant situated on a pier protruding into the shallow waters of Elounda. If I had a very minor criticism it is of the choice of music being played on the night we visited, This was a selection of Christmas standards which had been transformed with jazz. Great at Christmas but late April 2024 was not really appropriate. Having said that the whole experience of the food and great staff was wonderful. Well recommended.
