We ate here twice during our stay in Elounda and couldn't fault the food or the service on either occasion. Set back from the main harbour with a lovely, friendly atmosphere, this traditional, family run taverna serves great food. The staff offer a warm welcome and are helpful and courteous throughout. The kleftiko was exceptional as was the stifado and beef... More

Great little place, had lunch here twice, first with 5 people, then with 3 people both times excellent. Good food, good service, nice atmosphere with the advantage of having the beach across the road and a large play park for kids too. Well worth a visit !

A favourite place of ours when in Elounda. We visit several times each visit we make. The food is good, plentiful and hot. Demitris, Sotis and Nikos are excellent front of house. Often very busy with people returning.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. The staff offer a warm welcome and are helpful and courteous throughout. The food is just wonderful. From the cheese pies, creamy mushrooms through to the Moussaka and the Bekri Meze(*), the flavours come bursting through in your mouth. Don't pass this one by - this really is an amazing place to eat. (*)... More

When visiting a resort, we like to eat in different restaurants each night. This time, we made an exception for the Vachus Taverna and ate here twice. The taverna was definitely cheaper than most of the waterfront restaurants in Elounda but the food was of no less quality. My wife is a big fan of mushrooms and raved about their... More

We visited here on the recommendation of the taxi driver who dropped us at our hotel opposite. We couldn't get in on the first attempt so we booked for the following evening. We were given the option of choosing our table (which was nice) and was pre warned of winds the following evening so was advised to sit in the... More

We visited Vachus three times during our week long trip to Elounda. We liked it that much. Set back slightly from the central harbour area (opposite a children's playground) this is a small family run traditional Greek Taverna. The family that run it are lovely, really polite and friendly and the food is very reasonably priced (as is the wine).... More

Some of the best Greek food that I've ever had (and I've eaten a lot!) Wonderful service too. We ate here twice in a week and would recommend the moussaka, kleftiko and stuffed vegetables.

We had dinner twice here during our stay in Elounda. The restaurant is a family run Traditional Cretan Taverna that has a very nice atmosphere and also serves very tasty food at very reasonable prices. The service is excellent too. We will definitely be eating here again the next time we are on holiday in Elounda.
