Vineria is owned and managed by two of Crete's most accomplished wine experts. During the day they run an excellent wine shop and at night Vineria comes into its own, offering a range of dishes of the day, with a very impressive selection of modestly priced, excellent, local wines. The wine bar is nestled into one of Chania's quietest corners,... More

It is a lovely place with a special atmosphere. Prices are fairly reasonable and the overall quality great. The staff have a good knowledge of what is served. While here, we tried a couple of salads which were nicely presented, colourful and refreshing! My husband had the platter of cheese and cold cuts….interesting I can say. There is a huge... More

Vineria was opposite our hotel so we popped in a couple of times for some wine – they also do a platters of meat/cheese if you fancy some food. We found the wine to be delicious and the service to be friendly and welcoming.

Friendly stuff with good knowledge in wines. You have to get a salad along (they have wonderful recipes) and maybe a plateau of cheeses and cold cuts. The main courses are not as satisfying (one star minus there) so I would suggest you stick to variety. The area around the restaurant is magical and the interior fits a delicatessen/vineria. Definitely... More

My friend and I stumbled upon this gem in Chania's old town. We stopped because the restaurant was full of locals and smelled great. Vineria 36 sources its products from Crete and the local flavors (olive oil, honey, citrus) shined through in our meal. The chef greeted us at our table and, after we informed him about our wine preferences,... More

An odd staff saving concept: One guy in the small open kitchen and another guy is doing the rest. If You think that is hard to run a restaurant like this You know why the the food is not better. The dishes are chosen not to be time consuming, as a lot can be prepared in advance. My starter was... More

Found this little gem of a wine restaurant whilst walking around some of the small narrow streets in Chania. What a find. Food was cooked to perfection and was of a higher standard compared to some of the original tavernas out and about. I had a smoked salmon starter and my partner had a Greek salad. For main I had... Very nice location at the old town but away from the noise of the busy port. Excellent selection of Greek and Cretan wines, the food menu is not very large but every dish is made with attention to detail. Don't miss out, a must place to visit, make sure to reserve during August

Thank Niki R
