Warm home-made bread and butter, dried olives and great specials are worth the trip. Courgette fritters, lamb or goat in cream/cheese sauce and decent Greek wines (try the Assyrtiko/Sauvignon blanc blend, or the Syrah/Mourvèdre red - very like southern Rhone Chateauneuf du Pape tbh) are all pretty good. Friendly, busy place, but they got the bill hopelessly wrong - we... More

We love this restaurant, as do the discerning Chaniotiki (locals). There is no view - unless you are into car parks. But the food and service are outstanding. There is a choice of wine by the carafe, all good. They often bake their own bread. Wonderful choice of Greek food. Booking advised. Highly recommended

Near the end of the harbor, in quiet place, excellent interior, friendly staff. Don't waste time on menu, just ask for the daily offer and you will find something for yourself. And prices are quite ok. Recommend

This restaurant was recommended by the manager of the Hotel Fortino just around the corner, so our first meal in Chania was at Chrisotomos. The setting--outdoor tables in front of the restaurant, which is slightly removed from the crush of tourist restaurants that line the harbor--was very nice; table service was top-notch. The entrees were delicious, but I will rave... More

We love this little taverna and went there twice during our October 2016 stay in Chania. They serve the wonderful special salads of wild greens from the mountains of Crete that sustained the entire culture to survive the severe rationing during WWII. And we especially recommend the baked goat meat cooked in staka, and unique derivative from goat's milk cream... More

without exaggeration, one of the best restaurants in Chania, the food is always well cooked, the room clean, the staff always smiling, the prices are a little high, if noticing that the score will catch the absolute

This restaurant is a bit off the beaten track, set a couple of streets back from the inland end of the Venetian harbour. The food is very good, well made with fresh local ingredients. Many of the dishes are Cretan in origin and so just a bit different from the standard Greek fare. The bread is very fresh and home... More

I will not write about great service and rich menu -it was done by many others but I would like to review the lamb shop dish that was prepared absolutely perfect. I like lamb meat and preparing different dishes by myself but I can tell that I have not having such experience for many many years. It was so good... More

We were a party of 7. The appetizers were good but no more than any other good taverna in the area. The steak arrived well done way over cooked. The chicken breast again over cooked and served dry and cold. The lamb with tomato tasted just like a basic dish.... And then when we asked for a side dish of... More
