This must be the first time I have been so shocked by the total lack of interest by the waiting staff! There were at least 4 waiters and I didnt see a smile the entire time we were there from any of them. In fact I joked that were more like Jailers!! Ok, a bit over the top, but not... More

Great food and setting. Lots of locals there. The staff were not as helpful as some other restaurants we visited on our holiday. Perhaps they don't feel the need to try as hard given their excellent reputation. We did have a lovely meal here. I especially enjoyed the squid starter.

This restaurant is off the beaten path. Tables are in the sand and interface with the small waves coming in. A great place to dine while watching the sun set. Always busy. Recommend getting a reservation if you want a good table right on the water. Our service wasn't spectacular but not terrible. The Kalamari we ordered looked underwhelming but... More

Bad service, average food, good location by the sea,not worth the money they charge. There are much better alternatives around.

It was recommended to us by our hotel people, great spot, very romantic, not a posh place but it gives you a good idea of what a traditional tavern probably looks like. Difficult to find, better get a cab in and walk it back. Food was good but I had better dinners during my stay in Chania. Defo worth a... More

Located on a magical spot, Thalassino Ageri offers fresh, tasty traditional cretan cuisine, a list of good greek wines (we had the Malvazia which we loved) and excellent service. One of the most unique restaurants we visited in Crete, mixing authenticity with simplicity in an atmosphere that makes you want to scream "I love Chania". A bit more expensive than... More

We saved a sunset meal at Thalassino Ageri for our farewell dinner in Crete. Their sunset dinners make the guidebooks for a reason. It's a spectacular setting, and in good weather you are sitting right beside the crashing waves. You need to know this is truly a fresh fish taverna. Part of the atmosphere is the simplicity of a table... More

Come here at sunset, enjoy the view, the hospitality, the fresh fish prefectly cooked. The resaurant is located on the beach as close as it can be. We went there the next evening again

I would not say it is a restaurant, let's say an Open Air Taverna "on the water", wich is so close that you will hear the waves and smell the salt off the sea and this, really makes it a very special experience. The food was as usual, even though we chosed it "fresh", in fact the menu clearly states... More

A beautiful little restaurant on the water. Food was nice, atmosphere was lovely and service was also very good. Would recommend at visit at sunset! Perfect for couples, but also great for families and friends.
