We went back to Chania and returned to this restaurant. You have to take a taxi to get there, but it is worth it. The tables are on the beach and is beautiful at dusk. The best fish taverna in Chania. Highly recommendable!!

Fantastic setting in what is a virtually derelict part of town- Its a 20min walk from the old harbour but worth it - recommend booking Sun set is 8.30 (July) so get there before then - Its mainly fish so do not expect steak. Waiters (all male) are a bit surely butthat was a minor point - Food and setting... More

Really enjoyed our dinner here, mainly because of the setting, the view at sunset and the fish soup. The fish/seafood was really fresh and service was good. The combination makes it a restaurant you should visit if you are in town.

Staying in Chania old town/port we decided to walk to the restaurant 20 mins along seafront. Situated amongst what was old industrial buildings the setting was unusual. We had a table right next to the sea gentle waves lapping on the stoney beach. The food was delicious trad Greek starters tzatziki, fried courgettes and great bread griddled/toasted with rosemary, garlic,... More

I must say that the main reason I want to go back if for the setting. It's like out of a movie scene surrounded by derelict industrial buildings while other have been bought by designers / architects and revamped them. We went for dinner and there was a certain bittersweet melancholy. Very, very nice place to experience at least one.... More

We were told about Thalassino Ageri by our landlord. It took some finding initially but that's because of its unique location. As a location for a sunset meal you couldn't get better. The seafood is wonderful, excellent service

Recommended by a friend who is Greek and very knowledgeable about the restaurant scene in Chania, we were not disappointed. The dining area at the edge of the non-commercial, non-touristy, quiet side of the back harbor is sublime at sunset--peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful. The menu (the paper thing they give you which lists what is available) is unremarkable and not... More
