Chania harbour is awash with restaurants all trying to pull you in. It is very difficult to get comfortable with the jostling. We walked to the end of the harbour and went into a local bar. They recommended Portes, a small place set a road back from the front. A great recommendation. You can't book and it was crowded with... More

Ate at Portes last night. The food did not disappoint. We had lunch there earlier in the week and decided to reserve a table a few days later. We received a really warm welcome on our return visit. My husband had lamb with yogurt and I had the beef in red wine. Both our dishes were slow cooked and melted in... More

The restaurant is set in a beautiful and quiet street. We ordered about five dishes to share. All of them were great. "A dip of the sea" was sort of a sampler with anchovies ("gravos"?) with a great non-salty taste. The octopus carpaccio was quite innovative as well as the stuffed zucchini flowers. The food was also nicely displayed and... More

Very nice food and good choices. On a place away from the sea not so easy to find. We liked this. Our best dinner in Chania agreed with everyone. The quality of the food was very high and tasty.

Here you can find traditional dishes (such as boureki and kaltsounia among others) as well as more creative ideas with cretan ingredients. We ordered 4 starters and 4 main dishes, all of them ranging from good to excellent in taste. Quantities very reasonable, maybe more on the bigger side. Service was fast and friendly.

Excellent food, friendly service, reasonable prices. I liked the salad with grilled vegetables, krasomezes and the oven lamb. "Apaki pie" and "kaltsounia with malama cheese and honey" are delicious and highly recommend.

We have visited this restaurant after reading very good reviews on tripadvisor. Who is writing these reviews only God knows. They bring you olives and bread for starter which they charge you afterwards (as many times as the people being served, for example 1 euX3)!! A completely indifferent staff who are gathering at one point and talk and laugh instead... More

Friendly service. Good food. I ordered the fish of the day. It was presented simply and tasted very fresh. A lovely lunch! :)

The service was quick and friendly and the food of excellent quality. The highlight was the grilled lamp chops which were bursting with flavour and juiciness. We were given complementary dessert, which was skilfully made. I would definitely recommend this restaurant
