Stumbled upon this gorgeous taverna off the beaten track. Amazing fresh salmon and best lamb in Agios Nikolaos!! Staff are so funny and attentive. And a bargain too - one of our cheapest meals. Definitely a must if on holiday here.
Very lovely find. Was recommended to eat here by one of our hotel staff at alantha after telling them we would like to eat in places more greek rather than touristy. And what a lovely find it was! The staff were super super friendly especially...More
Just had to make a revisit to this charming taverna in the centre of Agios Nikolaos. Staff welcome you at the steps. They night recall you from the past. Food is typicall greek. Well prepared. Great service. Worth every euro.
Revisit tomorrow or next time...More
The food was excellent the best I’ve had in Crete so far. The house wine was far better than most Greek wines and good value for money. Our waiter ( Andreas) gave lots of advice on what to order and was very friendly.
We spent the last week in Crete in beautiful Agios Nikolaos.
We dined a number of times in Embassy Restuarant and found it wonderful in terms of food especially the salmon on the grill, the pork shank and lamb dishes in the greek style.
Have eaten here several times before and never been disappointed and this evening was no exception. The starters were excellent and the main course of Sea Bream was fresh and cooked to perfection, also the wine was very good, would always recommend this place.
What a find, just stumbled across this Place one night. Was very busy, but didn't have too wait very long. Food was delishious at a very reasonable price. Shame we only found it on our last night. We will be back for sure.
This is an atmospheric and friendly taverna located down a side street, a short stroll from the famous lake and harbourside. We ate in the shaded and colourful courtyard and enjoyed our fish-based dinner.

Fake my backside!! Grrrrrrr !!!! The owner is Greek his wife is Scottish and she has lived there for over 30 years!! Bringing up two lovely sons whilst working very hard to build up a very successful business. It's family run so therefore the waiting staff will be either Greek, Scottish or a mixture of both!!!! This should be in the Top 5 for Agios Nikolaos I've been going there since 1986 and cannot fault this truly wonderful CRETAN TAVERNA.
