It s a very special restaurant because you can have only shrimps and Greek salad. Sometimes they serve fish. Very crowded place that especially at weekends you wait to find a free table. It s very clean and stuff is very professional. Don't miss it.

The place to be when you want to eat shrimps and mullets! A traditional restaurant that serves, greek salad, mullets and shrimps! No-one can stay at one portion only! A place for locals that every person should try at least once!

For incredibly fresh, simply prepared, delicious seafood and a fantastic Greek salad, this restaurant is a gem. A no frills, elbows on the tables sort of place, the hospitality couldn't be any warmer. You'll be surrounded by locals from all walks of life who seem to have made Margaro their go to lunch spot.

The food is good but not exceptional. If you check out the clientele they are foreign rather than Greek, which speaks volumes. However, the fish and seafood is good, although there was not much choice when I visited it.

As always, every chance given, I go to Margaro. Simple menu which they master. Prawns, red mullet, langoustine (when available) and perfectly fresh Greek salad. Price is very good for the food quality, and service is excellent. Highly recommended!

Located next to the entrance of the Naval Cadets Academy and the Hadjikyriakos Orphanage- both exceptional historic and listed buildings. The luminous white tavern is efficient, friendly, prompt and not very pricey. The offer tomato-cuccumber-feta salad and two fried 'ceremonies'Q 1. small mullets and b. shrimps. The frying oil that they use is apparently not excessively re-used this the crispness... More

Yes, that's all there is on the menu of Margaro, and that is exactly what makes it worth your wile to go there ! We visited this fish restaurant four years ago and in comparison I can say the food is equally good (fresh, good, no frills) while the service is better (better looking guy, less grumpy). Seating is outside... More

If you decide to have lunch here on a sunny Sunday or on a public holiday, you may think that a demonstration is taking place in the little dead end street that leads to Margaro tavern. You sure need either a lot of luck or a lot of patience to find a table, but once you are seated the service... More

This is one of the oldest fish tavernas in Piraeus, located next to the Naval Military School, sharing in common the closeness to the sea. The menu is very limited but all you eat is wisely picked, really fresh and well cooked. Not many tables but excellent service. Prices are a bit over the average but the quality and friendly... Just don't go on a Sunday Saturday or any bank holiday in that place. Sure the food is good but it is so overcrowded and the service is bad that you forget that the food is actually good. But nothing special to go through an ordeal for shrimps and salad. Sorry but never again.
