We happened to visit Royal Curry House on Christmas Day, 2019 after a long tiring day to Meteora and thinking that it was too late and probably we would have to starve with most shops being closed. We were really lucky to find this place....Had an amazing meal of a lifetime! Mug er daal was one of the best I ever had in Europe. The prawn curry tasted like malaikari from India and the fresh Greek fish curry tasted sweet and out of the world! Brinjal bharta was perfect. Barisali cooking at its best. Most of the Bangladeshi cuisine in Europe is Sylheti and this was such a wonderful departure. No overdose of garlic and onion, or thick oily gravy, spices and herbs cooked to perfection. As Indian Bengalis from Kolkata, would strongly recommend tihs authentic Bangla cuisine in Athens.Mr. Dakua who owns this curry house is a lovely, warm gentleman - he even got us introduced to his wife and son. My daughter took three helpings of rice and this is much from a fussy eater as her. Came back to the hotel, heart content. God bless this family and restaurantMore

The food was fresh made and tasty- the prices were best value for money - the service was friendly but the place was rather dark and old with fashioned Pacistan culture. The restaurant is located in a very difficult area in Athens although it is...only 5 minutes walk from Omonoia square. At the end it was not so scary to go there as we thoght at first and the food was worthing the risk.More

We went there as we had visited a restaurant nearby and the food was good the day before and we assumed this might be different but still good. The food was ok, not too bad. The prices were a bit higher than the one we...visited the day before, but we thought that might be ok. But the worst was the unwelcoming waiter and pretty pathetic service. We had a lot of left over and wanted to pack it to give someone on the street, the waiter just gave us a box and implying that we pack it on our own. Anyway we would not recommend this place to anyone.More

For a change from Greek food, come here. Traditional small Bangladesh restaurant also serving Indian favourites. Good food, good service, and good prices! The surrounding streets however are not for those of a nervous disposition...

I wanted to try some Bangladeshi/Indian food and found this place. We had beef curry, daal, chicken curry, aloo vorta naan and rice. The food was extremely delicious. The beef curry was so tender, juicy with the right level of spice. The daal was very...tasty and mouth watering. The portion was very big and each curry served two of us. The chicken curry was beautifully cooked and tasted so delicious. I have never had such good Bangladeshi/ Indian food. The staff was friendly and the service was good. The food came a little late but it was well worth the wait. I went there for the second time in 2 days. One of the best experiences in Athens. Absolutely loved it. I don’t normally write reviews but I wrote this because this place deserved to be well known. I very much recommend it.More

It was in Chania december 2018, indian street food festival by Royal Curry house. We went there, had to pay entrance to get in and because in the same place it was some sort of caramel making (?). We paid because we really wanted to...eat indian food. 5 euro per person for the food plus entrance 5 euro person. Not expensive if we got what we wanted. The food was cold, no spices at all. It was really terrible.and not possible to eat. We took it home to our dogs and cats. On your facebook page, I tried to write message to give my complain twice but I never got any answer or excuse. Really, this was my worst experience ever if we talk about food.More

So we reached royal curry house after looking for Indian Restaurant in the nearby vicinity. We ordered Paneer Curry (5 Eur) and the tandoori Rotis (2 Eur). the food was below average, the paneer was not fresh and the curry was tasteless. We could not...finish the food in order to save our taste buds for something else outside. The best part was when they presented the bill, it was 7 Eur, however the waiter asked for 5 Euro table charges on top of 7 Euro, when i asked for the bill to be total of 12 Euro, he decided to bring another bill slip of 5 Euro with something in greek written on it. Being a tourist we decided not to argue on this and to pay 12 Eur. However when we approached cashier area to pay 12 Euro, I just shared my dissatisfaction about the 5 Euro "Table Charges" to which the cashier replied that they dont have any table charges and we have consumed food of 12 Euro, by this time i knew that they are trying to scam me and i realized that cashier has no knowledge about what waiter has told us. Now when we checked with the waiter he realized it and refused that he mentioned any table charges. With this i referred them to the menu again and to which we trying to convince me that the menu is old. With the heat of the conversion, we decided to leave after paying 12 Euro. As we were leaving some other people(may be regular customers) joined the staff inside, outside the restaurant we found another take away disposable menu and the prices were clearly mentioned, the bill was supposed to be 7 Euro, with the heavy feeling of being scammed and cheated i decided to go in again and fight for our 5 Euro (Not a big amount, but it was not right). I showed them the menu kept outside to which they did not have any answer, to this point i was about to call the tourism police in Athens and then they decided to return my money back. After they returned the money I asked them to please not to repeat this again with any other tourist in order to maintain good reputation of the city, to which they(Staff and their friends) started threatening me, we felt very insecure about our safety. This is a serious issue and i think the owner need to take some serious steps. Please feel free to contact me if you need more information.More

The restaurant was near our hotel and we wanted some Indian so we thought me might try this restaurant. We called one hour before and ordered take away. When we arrived the food was not ready. The waiter was not very welcoming. The food was...not good. The meat was not “pure” meat, a lot of cartilage or something. I also found a hair in my food and it was expensive. Just writing this review to warn other not to go there.More

Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is

most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set
