We absolutely loved this place! The place can get busy - people were being turned away.- but we got in. Forget ‘fancy’. It’s an unremarkable menu. Wine comes in aluminium carafes. Ugly glassware. Paper cloths. But the food was divine. Not complex or fancy -...but a menu prepared and cooked with passion, flair and love. Maria, the owner, was attentive and clearly loves what she does - even if some here fail to understand. Expect stuffed peppers, mousakka, lamb, chicken - all home made, cooked slowly and lovingly. This feels authentic. The whole place was lively (live music was excellent) but felt simple and honest. I would not have been unsurprised if half a dozen goat herders sat next to us. Wine comes as red or white. 500ml or litre. In a pot. Delicious. Starters, main course, dessert, wine and beer for two people was about €38. Unbelievable value for an opportunity to genuinely taste Greece at its best. Thank you Maria. It was awesome.More

A bit far from touristic routes. Nice and cozy atmosphere. The service is pretty good. The grilled shrimps are good but far from delicious. It is good idea to choose wine over beer there. The lamb with potatoes from the oven is amazing

Fabulous food, fabulous ambience, amazing host! We had delicious starters - tzatziki to die for!, very tasty main courses (veggie options available!!) Greek band was playing in the background and prices were very good! What else can you wish for?

Great service, great food, very attentive... lovely area. Reasonable but not the cheapest prices... but right at edge of the Agora/tourist area. Definitely not so painfully touristy though.

We visited this restaurant twice on our stay in Athens. We tried the lamb with potatoes (the lamb just fell off the bone, so tender), the moussaka and the shrimps, all were excellent. Later in the week they have a band, well worth seeing, the...atmosphere was great. The only down sides for me was a lot of people smoking indoors, we are not used to this being from the UK, and the location is very run down and doesn't feel safe. Best to get a taxi if you can, but well worth the visit. A very authentic Greek restaurant.More

We loved the food here but walked from our hotel to the restaurant. You walk through a market of sorts but the kind where people walk up trying to sell you cigarettes and the like, not a pretty market where you see organized fruits and...vegetable. So take a cab but check it out. They were able to bring the outside in with landscaping. Live music after 9:30 and great food. Service was slow for my liking.More

This was suggested in our Athens guide and whilst away from the main restaurant area it was well worth the walk. Fantastic food and a great band made for a lovely evening. The waitress was not one for conversation but made us chuckle.

We came all our family to this tavern, after we received warm recommendations from a friend of us, familiar with Athens, that is opinion counts highly at us. The place is placed in a bad neighborhood. Probably something changed there dramatically lately. The food was...bad (all the plates) with a very rude service. We adore the friendly service given in Greece's restaurants. This was our first time to find bad, actually very bad and rude service, at a place in Greece. This was our first time not to leave any tip in a restaurant. They were not worth it. What was compensating is the quality of the music band. We adore Greek music, and this suited the given recommendation - Greek music at his bestMore

Went here with some friends on our last evening in Athens-despite being a bit sceptical about it maybe being a tourist trap, we were positively surprised by very good dishes! Can be recommended!

We had been recommended to eat here. Although it is a little out of the way the service was amazing. They were friendly and hospitable and the food was unbelievably good. They treated us to a drink and small dessert! Highly recommend going for the...home cooked Greek food.More

In the middle of this crowded area you can find "Klimataria" a very cute and quiet venue, very creative decoration, very nice food and a great service with friendly staff ( difficult to find in Greece... ) I am a food lover and from all...the places i have visit in Athens this can be my favorite, great starters and delicious sea food. Next visit to Athens i will definitely come back.More

Excellent service. Very nice and gentle staff/owner. Made great suggestions, so we could taste different flavors/dishes. Apart from the complimentary entry entry, feta cheese and an extraordinary spinach pie. Beef with eggplant purée. An unassuming house red wine (which combined well with the food and...my taste). Definitively a must in Athens. We went to Acropolis walking today I did not want to walk anymore, so I was a little bit reluctant. This is not the prettiest neighborhood in Athens; we came walking. But the place is wonderful. When we were here (Monday 15-17;30 hrs), there were only locals. A couple of them mentioned how this place was excellent and one of their favs. All in all, this is a must. I can't understand the less than extraordinary comments made by some here. This is GREAT!More

We found the location as well as the taste of the delicacies served to us at this restaurant as average. The dishes weren't bad but not too great either.

I had been told it was a good restaurant by some friends but in August it was closed. We went back in September and it was open. As soon as you sit down they serve you with tzatziki and a small glass of liquor (not...ouzo). We tried a lot of traditional dishes and loved them all. I think a sort of mousaka with lots of vegetables without bechamel sauce was really fantastic and I appreciated the lovely beef on augergine puree too. The girl that served us was nice and we went there again before we left. I really think it's worth going there and I recommend it.More
