This is an authentic little restaurant lost in the middle of many tourist traps. The food is honest and tasty. I chose the place to encourage locals and helping them a bit to go through the Greek crisis. While I was there, locals were in majority. Make sure that you bring your translation tools and be prepared to use your... More

I have often eaten here and all I can say is that it is a lottery. Sometimes the good is excellent and sometimes it is very ordinary. Pleasant old-fashioned setting, classic Athenian menu, indifferent service. Worth taking a chance.

Authentic Greek food nicely cooked and good service. We both had three courses, liqueurs and two bottles of wine for €110.

This is an excellent restaurant which serves food they make HERE! The finest and tastiest tsatziki I ever had. Home-cooked lamb and chicken you simply can't get in the commercial tavernas. Simpatico and v professional staff. A moment of delightful cuisine and peace in the heart of the Plaka district of Athens. Go there!

It costs less but tastes the same great as at other Greek places. And portions are really big. Host is very welcome.

This family run restaurant is one of my favorite in Greece! The food, service and CALM atmosphere makes it a must if you find yourself anywhere near Syntagma Square.

A nice family-run restaurant offering traditional Greek food. We tried the lamb and pasta, also the typical pita with spinach and feta, finished with the joghurt desert. All was very tasty!

We love this place and went three times in the two weeks we were in Athens this month. I agree with the person who wrote earlier that it is a little scary to enter a place where almost every table is empty during dinner time. That being said, we dove in for two reasons: 1. The Tripadvisor reviews were very... More

Right in the midst of Plaka. They have indoor seating as well, though it's mostly the outdoors that attracts passerbys. Taste is above average, liked the kabobs and souvlakis the most. Once had the drunken pork and was simply too heavy in the stomach. Where the locals go. In fact, recommended by a local.

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
