We came here because it is just opposite the Euripides Hotel, where we were staying. From its appearance we didn't expect much, but we were in for a big surprise. It is a clean place with very professional, friendly staff, with indoor and covered outdoor seating. There seems to be a special philosophy behind this eatery: a small choice of dishes, but these of the best quality. So it was.
'Brizoles' in Greece, especially from 'Mos'hari' (Beef) are often very tough and stringy. Here we got an enormous portion, just enough for two. The meat from the charcoals was really tender and served on top of French Fries. With it we had a 'Kafteri', which translates as 'a spicy one', a warm Salad of fresh Tomatoes, with pieces of Feta and hot green Peppers. Superb.
To drink the waiters recommended their rosé house wine, which was not sweetish and very pleasant to drink, alson in company with the food. When in Greece, especially on the islands, the restaurants have become more and more fancy and fusion with according prices, here one gets a bill as in the old days. Although not in the most attractive corner of Athens we saw customers that looked as if coming straight from the affluent Kolonaki quarter, as if knowing that here they get top quality and value.

We came across this beautifully clean restaurant after deciding not to eat elsewhere because of the abysmal service. They were polite, welcoming and helped us make our choices. Absolutely huge portions of some of the most delicious roasted pork and beef with French fries and a lovely Greek salad. We finished every bite. Washrooms were very clean as well. Overall highly recommend Telis for quality of food, price, service and cleanliness!

OMG! So happy we found this place. Simple delicious food. Pork fillets served on chips, veal fillets softest I have had, tzatziki thick and traditional, toasted bread and the tomatoe+capsicum , chilli & fetta tray AMAZING. Tummy full and happy.

It was good steak house until the master cooker "Christos" moved to Faliro. Now they are having a bad Albanian cooker. Not only he does not know how to cook but his behavior to customers is terrible. From the time he speaks to you, your appetite goes to zero, no matter if the meat looks good.

Great quality and quantity at good price. Only shortcoming is short menu…effectively pork chops and fillets. However, we all enjoyed.

Fast food? Yes comes fast. But... this meat is slow growed, comes from exellent greek farm, is the best pork u can eat in town for 10 euro. Comes with original potatoes, you have to try the grilled hot tomato with feta cheese also. Its all a very good food. BE CAREFULL! go to the original TELIS the old man who have his big fotos at the shop. He is always there also u cant miss him. He ll give u for free a stake at hand to try. Cause the other guy beside, who make grilled pork also, named himself TELIS ALSO!!! To steel his glory and his clients. HE DONT WANT TO BUY BEST MEAT FROM FAIR NICE PRODUCER and he ll be always a fake Telis beside the original fantastic Telis. Man you will never forget this cheap greek good meal. We are good sometimes, we have meraki.
We will always visit this beloved place who keeps his employees standard.

We saw this place on our way to our hotel, it was always full so we wanted to try. Without asking us what we would like to have,they just dropped 2 big heaps of pork chops, as everybody else seemed to enjoy we decided to try. I think it would have better if they asked us and we would have chosen lamb chops. The Greek salad was a big portion but tomatoes were not tasty. I think the best thing was the tomato paste and cheese "meze" which should have been enough for us with a portion of lamb chops.

I really like those food spots that have "taste theme" to build upon. And this place is one of a kind for oveloaded plates with thin slices of delicious pork steaks. And this plates are placed in the centre of the circle, with the sides on the periphery to include tzatziki, greek salads, roasted aubergine in tomato sauce and garlic. Then crack on with your pint and your nibble!!! Not to forget... a Value-for-Money proposal !!

Telis is over the road from hotel, it is the original. Not one on corner.
Meat, meat and more pork, chips and Greek salad and wine.
Was difficult to know what you were getting and what you had to pay for.waitress had little English and kept bringing Xtra things, 'for you', be careful. Not cheap as advertised we ended up paying 38e.
The food was good and very big helpings.

Last time I came to this tavern was back in 2011 and I was worried that it might be closed, but thank god it wasn’t!!! We order the wonderful feta-tomato salad and 6 portions of “brizolakia”, it was glorious. Prices are also ridiculously low. 2 warnings though, the first is that the area is not very good and the second is that the nearby tavern, previously called “Minotaur” has changed it’s name to “ΤΕΛΗΣ”. The original tavern “Ο ΤΕΛΗΣ” is the one on the right...

Don’t get confused by the other store called Telis as well .

Can't help to avoid this typical Greek authentic taverna while being downtown since decades. Facing Evripides hotel. Always the same menu but you know what to expect: A huge amount of tender thin sliced brizolakia,home made chips, Greek salad of course and a spicy fresh 🍅 tomato sauce. House wine or 🍺 beer will refresh you in the hot months. Quick service, authentic ambiance,low budget, good quality food.
