The restaurant looked quite decent and we had dinner there. We ordered grilled sea bass, grilled shrimps, Daphne’s salad and a local starter.
The salad with orange slides but with seeds, the sea bass was over grilled. We ordered two bottles of water and total the bill was 68 euro. The grilled shrimps cost 22 euro for 4 medium size shrimps.
If you have no choice for meal, you might consider to go there!

My wife and I have been visiting Athens at least once a year for the past 40 years and have dined at many restaurants in central Athens. For some reason, we had never eaten at Daphne's. I had always assumed it was expensive - which it may have been in the past.
I booked a table for Valentine's day and when we arrived we were ushered into a courtyard with trees surrounding us. There was a good atmosphere and the restaurant was almost full. Our waiter, Petros, was helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The wine list had a good selection of Greek wines at reasonable prices - we had white and red wine from the Skouras winery - a good producer from the Nemea region, The food was good, although we did have an issue with one dish, but this was much our fault as there was misunderstanding between us, the waiter and the kitchen. It certainly did not spoil our evening.
Will we return when next in Athens? Certainly!

Food was good but steep price. Overall the actual meal was very nice but the price is high and portions are on the small side. In all honesty, you can probably find better restaurants in the surronding Plaka area.

What a wonderful place! Ignore the haters: My husband and I had the Daphne salad to start, and it was delectable, with orange and apple pieces, and nuts, and an orange glaze dressing. Then we shared the moussaka, which was amazing, and the lamb made in a ceramic pot, which was so tender and delicious. I had a huge glass of very nice Cabernet, probably an 8 oz pour for $8.50, and we were too full for dessert so they brought us complimentary shots of ouzo. Service was impeccable and the restaurant is beautiful. Go and enjoy!

2 Stars for the location and the very charming lady at the entrance. The restaurant is pricy for greece but the dishes are not worth the price. At the beginning they are serving you tap water. Than they bring you bread and olive paste with the words `its from the house' which means everywhere else that is offered from the house. At the end they charge you for the tap wather for the bread and for the olive paste. The funny thing is..they are really asking if you want to give a additional tip.....Avoid this place.

Daphne’s is a lovely restaurant located in Plaka which serves classic Greek cuisine. It is a sprawling restaurant with several separate dining areas, both indoors and outdoors. It also has 2 different entrances, and it can be confusing if you enter one, and leave by the other.
The main clientele is tourists, and the food was mostly very good. We had marinated octopus, rabbit stew (fetsida), and a dish of grouper. Unfortunately, the grouper was both expensive and overcooked.
We were sitting in an outdoor area, where we were in eye contact with the person in charge, named Fotis. We told him about the grouper, and he was very apologetic, and served us complimentary dessert and tsipouro (our favorite Greek digestif) at the end of the meal.

On our last night, just by chance, we tried Daphnes right near our boutique hotel in Plaka. What a lucky surprise! We had the best authentic food on our trip, after 5 days of touring and eating in Athens. Their stuffed vegetables are so tasty. I had the stuffed zucchini in a lemony sauce. It was aromatic and delicate. My husband had a delicious kebab. Prices are just above average but worth it.

This is an excellent place- well worth its reputation for good food and convivial service. we were seated outside on the terrace and the waiters were discreet and helpful in their service and their recommendations. The starters and main courses were exquisite and beautifully presented. The wine choice was extensive. A highlight was a herbal digestif offered at the end of a relatviely light meal. I would have no problem in recommending this place to anyone visiting the Plaka. The food was not cheap, but the quality was very fine.

I came here one evening as I was staying nearby. It’s a nice restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. The food was good but I felt overall it wasn’t the best value for money as it was quite expensive for what it was. Desserts seemed very expensive too.

For our final evening in Athens, we asked our hotelier for advice and he recommended Daphne. And we were not disappointed in any way; quite the opposite. We were pampered from the start by the waiter and served very attentively. All of the typical Greek dishes were excellent and we really enjoyed them. The wine list was also impressive. Daphne's is certainly a rather expensive restaurant, but we were able to spend a wonderful, relaxed evening that was really worth it.

Well, Daphné saying you habeen around since 1994 and giving the restaurant à chic look is nor enoughtomake you à good restaurant.
Welcome was OK, food largely overpriced, stale cheese on my chewy beef stew, tarama was a dollop of bread and potatoes... the table next to me was comaoni g about overpriced and undercooked fish... There are better restaurants in Plaka. Will not recommend or go back..

Ate dinner at Daphne's the day before we boarded our Greek cruise. Great atmosphere and we were seated in the courtyard which was a fantastic experience and something we thoroughly enjoy when in Europe. Staff were great and accommodating. We were looking for traditional Greek food and Daphne's did not disappoint. I had the Moussaka which was delicious and met my expectations. My wife and friend had the lamb in the ceramic pot and, apart from coming with a lot of protein, it was tender and delicious. My other friend had the scampi and he really enjoyed it as well.
Even though I know my wines quite well I must admit that I tend not to drink wines from Greece. They had a very nice Pinot Noir and, overall, was surprised how much I enjoyed wines from Greece throughout our trip.
You will notice a lot of celebrities and foreign dignitaries have dined at Daphne's and I can understand why.
Definitely recommend it.

We went there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Beautiful environment, with refinement. Gentle and careful staff. Very good food! I loved the experience! Prices of the main dishes range from 15 to 40 euros on average.

Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
