We enjoyed our meal here and even came back later at night for dessert. I enjoyed sitting in the back area. The mezzes were very tasty and moderately priced. I recommend it.

This is a lovely little restaurant in the Omonia neighborhood in Athens. The service was great and everyone was very welcoming - even to us English speaking tourists! The food was absolutely delicious. We had two of the sausage platters and we had Greek yogurt with sweet carrot at the end (which was on the house!). We even tried the... More

This restaurant has incredibly tasty food and a very polite and kind staff. The owner was kind enough to take a picture with us as we were leaving in the middle of lunch rush and gave us 2 free desserts! The beef kefte was the best, great value and portions. Definitely recommend eating here if you're in Athens!

Just returned after dinner with friends at the Karamanlidika. An amazing place. Excellent food, astounding ambience, super friendly service, and all at very reasonable prices. Highly recommend an evening here as as part of an Athenian experience.

It doesn't matter if you aren't familiar with Greek food and don't know any of items the on the menu like we didn't -- everything we tried was fabulous. The restaurant is a part of a sausage store, so the meat customers are mixed in with the restaurant customers. We had a such a great time we came back our... More

Ta Karamanlidika is definitely the best restaurant I have visited in Athens. The staff is very very very friendly and the food is delicious. Besides you can buy cheese and sausages in the restaurant! The dishes are quite cheap and the restaurant served us a fantastic dinner!

We had the meat and cheese platter for main, 1/2 sizes, with stuffed vine leaves and eggplant tomato with feta to start. Amazing carrot and yogurt for dessert. Trendy and cool place, awesome staff, it was lots of fun and the food was delicious! If only one of my reviews works from around the world, let it be this one!... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
