We tried 2 different cakes and both were excellent. Filo dough filled with apples and spices and doughnuts- plain- with honey and nuts on top. Yummy!!!

Krinos is an institution of taste and history. Even if you are not a fan of deep fried donuts you should pay a visit if you want to be transferred in Athens almost 100 years ago. You can see it in the architecture of the...More

Came here as part of our food tour and loved the loukoumades with honey. It felt very traditional the you saw many locals eating here, always a good sign. The interior has a very old school feel and we found it quite cozy as well....More

Great local traditional Greek loukoumades. The pastry shop has been around for at least 50 years...I always go there when in Athens. It’s a great place to stop for a break when walking around Monastiraki.

I guess every country has a its own version of this sweet. The Greeks added the honey, cinnamon and nuts if you desire. These are particularly light and fresh. The place has a long history with a nice building giving an interesting atmosphere.

The loukamades with honey, cinnamon, and nuts were so fresh and delicious. Truly a must on a do-it-yourself food tour of Athens!

Krinos serves local loukoumades or "greek doughnuts" and other local pastries like cream/cheese/spinach pies and such. Try loukoumades with honey or chocolate. They serve you well in English, but you'll receive a nice smile if you greet them in Greek and ask first if they...More

Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is
grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from
the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its
underground stalls, the square is now mostly
frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The
most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set
off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually
coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a
