Great food and nice staff. We had Greek kebab an souvlaki. Kebab was easily one of the best I have ever had and home white wine tasted light really and good. Rigth as we discussed if we have room for something sweet waiter brought us complimentary dessert and drink which made our experience 10/10 ! Definitely will recommend to our friends visiting Athens.

I rarely ever give a 5 star review but this place deserves it. Quiet location but very close to the main drag of Psiri in Athens.
First, I liked that it wasn’t one of those places where 5 waiters chase you down on the street or have a signs or menus with pictures of their food. This restaurant actually has a sign up that says no “tourist hunting” which I though was great.
For appetizers we had a greek salad and eggplant dish (forget the name). For dinner we did the mixed grill. The menu said the mixed grill was enough for 2 people but there was definitely enough meat there for 3-4. All of the food was delicious and the best meal that we had in Athens.
Prices were reasonable and well worth the quality and quantity of the food. I would have happily paid more for the meal we had.
The waitstaff didn’t rush us out which was appreciated. They let us hang out as long as we wanted for some people watching! We didn’t order dessert, however, when we asked for the check we were treated to a complimentary dessert and after dinner drink was a nice touch!

We discovered this delightful restaurant almost by accident, in Esopou 4.
The reference to Rooster comes from the remarkable singing skills of the owners, lots of years ago, when the restaurant was only a wine shop.
Before talking about the food I would like to underline the absolute politeness of all the staff, we have appreciated the manners and the courtesy.
Uncommon everywhere.
The food is truly amazing.
No flavor is strongly preponderant over the others, on the contrary a true experience is perceived in balanced tastes.
The meats have the softness and juiciness that come from perfect cooking.
Not a minute more, not a minute less.
We had light lunches with various salads and dined with memorable grills but always had great memories.
Last, but not least, the bill has always been with a high ratio between what consumed by us and how much we paid.
Much lower than some restaurants, perhaps more visible, where you are almost pushed in and where you eat much much lower quality food.

We found this restaurant featured on a YouTube channel we love to watch. We decided to give it a go for lunch. It was fabulous. Some of the nicest food I've eaten in a long time. I got the chicken with yoghurt and honey and it was divine! The chicken had a beautiful smokey flavour and was super succulent. I consider myself a big eater, but the portion was enormous and I struggled to finish it.
It's a must visit location for a meal when you are in Athens.
The menu is in English, it's well priced, beautifully decorated and the staff are very helpful.

We are very big foodies and love Greek cuisine so we walked around the area and stumbled upon this place. We absolutely loved everything we ordered way too much and couldn’t even finish the food. The saganaki in particular was amazing! The service/men running the place were so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back if we’re ever in Athens again. Highly recommend! Also the prices are very fair and the quality of food is terrific. They even have dessert and a shot on the house ❤️

Actually didn’t succeed to sit because the waiter was unwilling let use some space at the corner for our fifth member of the family ( kid). He insisted to sit inside although the sunny day was for outside!! Probably he had plans to fulfill the tables inside too. Visiting the place years now will not again in the future since we want to spend our money to places that the waiters smile have and give positive energy and feel our needs!!! Actually the place 159m away provided all the above!!

We absolutely fell in love with this place. The staff and the owner were so incredibly kind and made the experience a beautiful way to end every day, and the food was the best traditional Greek we had during our trip. No matter what you order, it never disappoints. Thanks for everything!!

This restaurant is pleasantly situated in a quiet street, not far from the much busier ones around Plateia Iroon. They are proud to say they don't hassle for customers and they don't need to because the food speaks for itself. Greek traditional dishes, some with an original twist. For example one of our choices was a vegetarian moussaka, very good! All the dishes we had were well-prepared and very tasty. Service was very professional and friendly. Very glad we chose it that evening.

We had such a lovely dinner here while spending one night only in the Monastiraki area of Athens. The souvlaki (both pork and chicken) were amazing, and the fried cheese appetizer was a perfect starter. The owner John was a wonderful host who waited on tables and was so polite and gracious! This treasure is out of the way of the busier streets and around the corner from a very busy cafe/restaurant. Highly recommend.

An absolute hidden gem, this restaurant made me and my husband realise we need to write restaurant reviews so people make the right decision.me. This is a traditional taverna in the middle of a busy touristy part of town. The house wine is amazing, the food was the best we have had in Athens and the service friendly. They have heaters which is a treat for a slightly chilly evening, thank you!!

Delicious, homemade food with a wide menu. We got saganaki, fava, traditional moussaka, and by chance their daily special was a vegan moussaka which made my night! The restaurant is very authentic and charming, with an outdoor seating area as well. Would highly recommend for a great dinner in Athens! 👍🏼

A definite winner! Good food, good service, good prices. I It's easy to walk past it as it's on a side street and it doesn't have a huge presence on the street but that is one of it's charms. You would be hard pressed to find a better menu or prices, a favorite of mine is the handmade pasta with sea food, the meze are fantastic and the beer is ice cold. Εινα νοστιμο φαγετο!

Stopped by for lunch as reviews were good. We ordered Greek salad, spanakopita and traditional pork Souvlaki. It was a decent salad and the Souvlaki was really good. I found the spanakopita disappointing as it was short pastry containing spinach ‘empanada style’ deep fried. Good efficient service & a nice spot. We liked it all in all.

This little, alley located, restaurant is a sample of a traditional decent Greek cuisine.
Fresh Greek salad, high quality olive oil, fantastic Tziki as should be.
One can always asses the quality of ingredients and the chef's touch, when eating the Mousaka.
Here it was one of the top 10 we had in Greece. Good quality, large portion and super tasty.
The service was fast and polite. Prices are a notch below the area's restaurants.
Highly recommended.

Had a great meal at this restaurant and can only give my best recommendations. The restaurant is situated on one of the quieter streets in Psyrri, but still plenty of opportunities for people watching. And the food was really, really good and at very reasonable prices. Also, great and friendly service, and the waiter was extremely helpful in explaining the menu and give recommendations... Excellent place!
