Used to be located across the street and that was its charm. By moving accross the street to a square that accommodates many more tables , suddenly the waiters cannot keep up. Our waiter is the example of the person who is in a bad...mood, talks down on the busboy in front of us, in short the waiter with an attitude . Walk away until they hire enough professional staff, in short not worth spending your Saturday night!More

Consider this a warning. We were very excited to eat here initially. The beautiful courtyard setup next to our hotel was very inviting. The menu looked delicious (albeit expensive) and we thought this would be a fancy enjoyable dinner. We regretted everything we ordered. The...beef filet was actually inedible. They did take this item off our bill, but they seemed very annoyed at this. The meatballs were dry and plain. The wine was ok. Would never recommend…. We wished we’d gone somewhere else.More

We went there for a drink, and the first 5 minutes I was impressed by the service, so many people came around us, to ask us what we want. Eventually that was only the beginning. We had to ask for few waiters to bring us...the menu. After we got the menu we had to wait to order, and after we ordered we of course had to wait for the drinks. Put into time, from the moment we sat in the restaurant until the time we got our drinks, we had to wait for 45 minutes!!!!!More

At a business dinner of 10 people you would expect more attention to the service. Drinks came late, starters came onn time but took for ever for the empty plates to be removed. Main course took for ever and the same for second orders of...wine. Overall the experience was not positive and will probably not visit it again. Food was average. Bill in the end could not be split.More

On our journey from the airport we asked our taxi driver for recommendations for any local bars we should visit during our trip and he suggested a wine bar called By The Glass. On our first day we headed into Plaka via this bar and...sat outside overlooking a cute church whilst enjoying a few glasses of rosè and a charcuterie board - it was the perfect way to start our trip!More

Nicely lit outside in the courtyard with a welcoming breeze after a hot day. French 40-50s music playing. I had two starters which were good and then the fillet steak for a main, which was superb! The waiter paired both the starters and main with...greek wine. All round superb.More

We were always fond of the by the glass wine bar and especially of its outside garden. Some recent experiences though were rather disappointing but last night was a very prominent one. We made a reservation to be on the safe side and upon arrival...we were shown to a small round table by the entries despite our clarification that we were coming for dinner. Bear in mind that there were other more comfy tables that remained empty for the duration of the night. Close to us there are at least two other couples sitting in larger tables and nursing one glass of wine (Yes, ONE glass of wine) for a good three hours. Our servers kept juggling plates, glasses, and utensils to make them fit on our quite obviously small table while the eagled-eyed owner was continually serving the premises never thought of moving us to a larger table. In the end, it become an exercise in geometry and we helped the innovations of the servers fully expecting that somebody will realize the stupidity of the exercise and offer to move us to another table, but to no avail. When we finished our full dinner, having emptied a full bottle of wine, we ordered two additional glasses. We saw, next to us, that they brought some freshly cut cucumbers and we asked whether we could have them as well to accompany our glasses of wine. Our server mumbled something about that being a private treat and refused to offer us the same. When pressed, he grudgingly agreed to inquire with “the authorities” but never came back with an answer. At bill time (and naturally no tip time) we asked the server about the faith of our request and he simply smiled at (laughed with ?) us and departed. The two (tasting) glasses of Muscat that they offered us gratis after we paid our bill did little to reduce our unhappiness with the way that our evening has passed. We left at midnight while the place was still at full and the owner expressed a do not care attitude to corona virus restrictions and started ordering free rounds of drinks to some kind of “celebs”. It’s bad that we left with a bad “aftertaste”.More

This wine bar is beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere is quite relaxing, especially during a summer night. Unfortunately, what ruins the nice surrounding atmosphere is the staff's attitude and service. We were a group of 7 young people from different countries, and we felt unwanted...from the very beginning. Not surprisingly, the snob attitude of the staff was lifted when the latter was interacting with older customers or friends of the owner, be it Greeks or foreigners. Nobody really acknowledged us in the space. For example, we were waving our hands for 20 minutes to pay the bill (the place was not even that crowded). I had to get up and tell an employee that we really need to pay, and after he reassured me that the person in charge is coming, we waited for another 10 minutes for that to happen. In the end, the guy finally came as he was making us a favor. We were never asked if everything is alright as in the surrounding tables, but the staff members were above the heads of (more important, I suppose) other customers who also got their bill right away, long before we got ours. Having a good selection of wines, fancy dishes, and relaxing music is always great, but subtly discriminating over the customers is never worth it.More

I visited this "wine bar" with a couple of friends. Surprisingly although advertised as a "wine bar" little advise can the personel offer about wines! Sadly no sommelier available! Apart from that the staff appeared snobbish and rude for no reason, the prices per bottle...outrageously expensive compared to other wine bars in the area. The food was tasty no matter the small portions. If one wants an experience with regard to good greek wines in combination with greek cuisine, avoid!More
