The place is pretentious and the stuff not friendly at all. No effort to fascilitate us and no professionalism.

Amazing spot to have a nice lunch and a glass a fine wine. The food was exceptional. I had the sea bass ceviche which was so delicious and the serving size was generous. It’s a great place to partake in a very expensive wine that...you always wanted to try but couldn’t afford. The thing I liked the best was the service. The manager, Luccia who was very pleasant and friendly although she was extremely busy , waiting on both outside and inside tables. What a gem she is! I hope the owner realizes this. If ever in Athena’s again , I will definitely return.More
9-12€ for a glass of wine (actually not bad), and the waiter bring every single glass served from the bar. Come on! In the worse tavern for a 2€ glass of wine you expect for a table serving. So seedy! So rude! 12€ glass and...you cant see what you are going to pay for. Seriously??? No more ;)More
Nice place, good cuisine, super staff, fantastic desserts. Their baba au rhum with ice cream was really amazing. Will visit again!
Right next door to our hotel so great for first night in Athens after a long day of travelling. Food and wine very good and prices reasonable.
An impromptu stop on a hot October afternoon for a glass or two of wine. Tried Greek Orange Wine, one unfiltered, natural, and produced in the traditional way. Very pleasant and informed service.
We've eaten here both inside in the arcade area and outside in the square by the old church mainly because we stay at InnAthens which is through the arcade (although I understand that the restaurant is unrelated to the hotel). Food has always been looked...and tasted great, service also good with attention to detail and wines either by the bottle or by the glass have always been good recommendations based on our price point, preferred character of wines etc. I've learnt a lot about Greek wines and been impressed by them - just a shame we can't buy any of our favourite wine list vintages in the UK. Nice locations, inside can be a bit noisy when busy, blankets have been provided outside when cold in the past. Best to reserve on Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights as it's busy.More
After returning from plaka we ended up at this wine bar… We had the chance to try different types of wine and cheese and they were perfect. I think the prices could’ve been better though 😏
By the glass is our most favorite wine venue in all of Athens Greece… The extremely knowledgeable sommelier, epic Mediterranean cuisine along with atmospheric venue makes for a perfect lunch or dinner. We’d suggest ordering the amazing Greek wines and enjoying this lovely venue!
We ate at By the Glass our first night in Athens, somewhat jet lagged but wanting to try Greek wines. The sommelier there was very helpful and educated us on varietals. Even brought the bottles out so we could take pictures of the ones we...liked. Dinner of Greek meatballs with tzatziki was delicious and more than enough to absorb the good wines. Very casual, would recommendMore
Fabulous selection of wines. Excellent sommelier. Delicious tapas style snacks. Highly recommended. Great location in Athens
Best wine bar restaurant i visited in Athens. Excellent service and a huge menu of different wines and dishes of food . I recommend it definitely!!
Excellent food as well! Staff knowledgeable about Greek wine and helpful. Charcuterie plates were excellent.
Wine by the glass is of a dubious origine and label Poor portions, overpriced regarding to quality, Unprofessional service, Abandoned management
We had dinner with our friends from Greece who are well versed in wine. We served almost all the dishes on the menu and did not identify any flaws. Excellent wines. We will be back with pleasure. I sincerely recommend that you do not miss...this restaurant.More
