N37°58.314' E23°43.880' 7 Food Sins or Seven Food Sins calls itself a “gastro pub”. The “pub” is on the ground floor (1F) with diner tables from 7pm. The restaurant is on the first floor (2F) and roof (3F) with a nice view of the Acropolis....Unfortunately, few guests visited the restaurant during the coronavirus epidemic in September 2020. The staff advised us to sit near the bar in the “pub”, but we preferred the restaurant on the first floor, although that meant the only lonely guests for the whole evening. Sadly, the roof was closed due to expected but absent wind and, in our opinion, absent guests. The name of the restaurant refers to their philosophy, which is built around 7 sins of eating, including using your hands, feeding friends and being greedy. It offers attractive modern and well-priced menus with tasty Greek and Mediterranean dishes. 7 Food Sins was awarded the Bib Gourmand classification in Guide Michelin 2020. We ordered the short story tasting menu, 8 courses of canape, crab, Lamb tartare, croacker, bread, guinea fowl, citrus and miniardises (€50) and the vegetarian story tasting menu, 8 courses of canape, peas, zucchini, cauliflower, bread, eggplant, citrus and miniardishes (€50). As accompanying wine, we selected the Savvatiano from Winery Papagiannakoy on Attica (€33), recommended by the waiter. Although the atmosphere was a bit empty, the gourmet party started with the first course and went along until the last. A beautiful range of flavours, textures and presentations passed our table in procession. Too much to describe, just a feast of culinary delights. Our personal waiter did an excellent job in serving the courses and explaining the food. 7 Food Sins offers very well-prepared tasting menus, that amazed us in every aspect. Not cheap, but worth the experience. Highly recommended.More

I have been to many exquisite restaurants in Athens and around the world. Well, the problem with the 7 food sins is really the portions of the food. If the food was that good i could forget it, but the reality is that the food...is average and the portions really tiny. It is a pity because the location is unique...we had the egg the mushroom and the mackerel as starters. All were ok but nothing more. The 'stira' fish was one bite and the 'ortyki' 4 tiny bites...Bread was very nice, however, we asked for a second portion and they told us that there was no extra bread...amazing!!! With this kind of service there will be no future for the restaurant....Disappointed...I wasted a Saturday night and honestly I don't have that much time to waste!!More

The view is incredible on the rooftop deck and the amuse-bouche were tasty and interesting takes on greek cuisine. Good wine at decent prices and the waiters were very kind and attentive. Will come again!

It's no pub, it's a top notch restaurant with well trained staff and excellent food. I am currently on tasting plate 3 and felt compelled to write the review already as everything has been flawless. Great value at 50 euro for 6 courses paired (very...well) with wine.More

Amazing food. Highly recommended are the vegetarian & the normal 8 course tasting menus. We were a group of 6 and took the wine pairing. Every wine was unbelievable good. A mixture of Greek and wines from other regions but always a perfect match to...the menue The rooftop has a stunning view to the acropolis hill.More

It is a very distinguished restaurant in the Plaka with stunning views on the Acropolis from its roof garden. We took the 8 course menu and I must admit that the chef is really awesome. Bravo for his courage and innovation especially during this difficult...period. It was a pity to see that we were two tables on the night we ate there, but anyway I saw so many empty restaurants in Athens.... The food was really tasteful and you feel how much love and care there is behind and of course the quality of the raw material. The staff was helpful and competent. I've always had good experiences with Michelin and Gault-Millau guides in Greece and this restaurant confirms the good impression made. I wish the chef good luck! Last but not least the price paid was really competitive for the quality of the dinner.More

While the food was excellent, we were denied the menu we came for, for a ridiculous reason and with a very arrogant attitude. Unacceptable for any place!

I have written to Michelin to advise that this restaurant is listed as Bib Gourmand, but that they are no longer offering a fixed price ‘reasonable’ menu. I was very disappointed to have to pay €20 for a starter and €26 for a main. VERY...small plates of food (I was not having the taster menu and ordered a la carte). Some delicious elements to the dishes but far too small. You should not charge for bread if you are trying to get brownie points for service. Service was sporadic. Two different people, and one was unable to explain the dishes. I asked to move tables as it was freezing cold by the window. It also smelled damp. I ate my overpriced main with no wine to go with it. When I received my main I had to call after the waiter to ask for a drink and he did not hear me. At the end of the meal he asked ‘would you like to leave a tip?’. Cheeky! The answer was no. I asked the maitre d’hotel why they did not have the Bib Gourmand menu, despite being listed, and was told of their aspiration to get a Michelin star, having been inspected recently. I suggested they remove their Bib Gourmand listing as it is misleading, to which he confessed to not wanting to loose the custom they get from this listing. I felt well and truly ripped off by this point knowing they’d deliberately got me through the door on false pretences. This compelled me to write to Michelin, and am hoping that they take them out of the Bib Gourmand list. Having worked in a Michelin star restaurant and eaten in many, much better, Bib Gourmand locations myself - I assure you that they will NOT be getting a star any time soon. Trying to be something it is not.More
