We visited Hytra restaurant 1 week ago. We tried the 13 courses menu. The food was excellent with top dish the “langoustine”. It was a travel of different flavours. The chicken also was unique, with different parts!! (Wow). I have to say also about the...house made cheese. Truly on of the best cheese I have ever try. Service was super friendly and they made us to feel really comfortable. George, our waiter, was outstanding performer, really knowledgeable and super kind. He tried to make our experience even better and he did it. The aperitifs “smoked carrot” and “Aegean” ( his recommendations) were amazing. The wines that he recommended, also were excellent and our favourite one was the “Labyrinth”. Thumbs up for everybody inside of the restaurant. Great job guys. Thank you very much Hytra!! See you next summer for sure.More

The reservation was no problem - friendly lady gave us a table with a view on the Akropolis. Then it started: the waiter was trying to convince us to take the small menu 11 course and not 13. We came late so maybe he wanted...to finish the table in time. He said most guests would get bored after 3 h with the 13 course. Then he asked for a wine, I said how about the wine pairing? Answer was oh no not good the best is you take a bottle of wine and then he offered me one for 258€ ! I asked for more reasonable since I do collect wines for over 20 years and then he came with one for 180, 155, 100, 90... so it was a question of making money = quality... disgusting!! In a Michelin Star Restaurant! The food was good the pairing cocktails menu was awesome, there is an artist at the bar! The cook is an artist and the service not authentic they transmit a bad feeling as the Wiener I would dismiss half of that crowd.More

My wife and I visited Hytra on our last night of a 10 day vacation in Greece, and what a great way to end the trip!! The food was so unique and memorable at every step. The flavor profiles in each dish, combined with the...cocktail/wine pairing was perfect. My wife is fairly picky when it comes to food, but Hytra was accommodating and made her experience just as unique. Our server, George, was super nice and knowledgeable on every aspect of the meal. Hytra is a must do while in Athens! A great meal with even a great view on the city skyline!More

It’s a restaurant where you expect best quality of food but also the taste to be unique. Nothing like that. We got the regustation menu with the 11 plates and were not impressed with none of them.. we were quite disappointed actually. We have visited...CTC and Aleria and there is no comparison. What also stroke our attention are the plastic tables in the terrace, for a Michelin restaurant like this, you would expect small attention to these details. Food was ok but nothing special. The staff was very friendly but that’s it. Do not recommend it as there are many other restaurants in Athens that offer better gastronomical experience.More

Food and service was amazing. The timing could have been a bit faster but over all worth the visit. Their wine paring was very generous! 6 very full glasses! Lol

We chose the 11 course tasting menu with wine paring. Although the portions were not large as some reviewers commented, this was not unexpected with so many courses. The presentation and service was great and we had the corner table with an amazing view. The...food very good overall and the presentation was always impressive, some courses were less flavorful than others. Based on our conversations with the wait staff of our other dining experiences in Athens, they brought us (what we in Louisiana call Lagniappe - a little something extra) a taste of a drink after the meal in addition to the typical Mastiha (I’m not certain what it was, perhaps Tsipouro) which was a nice touch. While the meal was expensive, for the overall experience I would say that it was reasonable.More

Great food with spectacular views. We chose a 12 course dinner with a cocktail pairing. Squid spaghetti and crawfish with florina pepper were the most popular dishes. The chicken was also quite surprised by its excellent service and juiciness. The cocktails were perfectly matched, I...liked Verde Margarita the most!More

The restaurant was very noisy and the portions tiny . First “course”( so tiny it was a mouthful) of cucumber soup was bitter. Minuscule portions of ordinary food. No non alcoholic drink options apart from fruit juice and coke. Over priced . Food ok but...not worthy of a Michelin star. Meant to be service included but then the waiter asked if we wanted to tip. I left my cardigan behind and despite calls and emails they have not responded .More

We tasted the 13 course degustation menu at Hytra during our recent trip to Athens and it was an experience to remember. The meal, along with wine pairing (one of us opted for cocktail pairing) lasted around 4 hours, during which we were presented with...innovative, freshly done and tasty food of amazing variety - the langoustine wrapped in spinach, the pear tart, the squid, tomato with bacon - all of them were superb. By the time the deserts came, we were quite full, but could not miss the chocolate looking like a mini skull. The wines (all locally sourced in Greece) were excellent and the service was top notch. Definitely a place to go for fine dining lovers, if you are in Athens. Also, don't miss the amazing view of lit up Acropolis as you dine - one of the great treasures of the world !More

The service at Hytra was simply fantastic. Even it was very busy on a Tuesday night, the waiters kept the high service level and it felt very personal and intimate despite the quite big size of the restaurant. Food was excellent, too.

We held a private drinks party here for 100+ guests. It was fantastic! The organisation and preparation was efficient and patient considering the party was booked in Autumn 2019 and held in Spring 2022! The service on the night was exceptional - nothing was too...much trouble, the staff were friendly and efficient. The ambiance was really nice with fantastic views, soft lighting and lovely background music. Oh and they serve a decent sized gin & tonic! All in all we were delighted.More

We had the 14-course tasting menu and it was a real disappointment. First of all, the first 4 courses of the menu were not courses but amuse-bouche even though the restaurant calls them courses...really misleading. I frequently go to 1 star michelin restaurants and I...have to admit that there was absolutely nothing special about this menu. The portions were very small and after a couple of courses (or amuse bouche rather), we were still feeling very hungry. The trick of this tasting menu is that in the middle of the menu, the waiter brought a massive piece of bread with butter and this was considered as a dish. Obvisouly, it made us full but bread, as far as I am aware, is not a course but a side...this was another misldeading course. While the staff was friendly, the service was definitely too fast and at one point I ended up with 2 dishes on the table. This is really poor as we could not even take our time to enjoy our food. Also, we have been asked to pay a waiter charge in the end while the menu clearly states that the waiter charge is included, rather frustrating to get this kind of ask. If the waiter charge is not included, then do not mention the opposite on the menu. The michelin guide states "that this restaurant is worth the stop"...well, they should certainly reconsider their opinion as it was not a great experience at all. My conclusion is definitely not worth the stop...you can find much better restaurants in Athens with more affordable prices than Hytra.More

On twom occasions I have visited Hytra. Both during the summer of 21. On both occasions were service great and the food exceptional. There are plenty of menu options to choose from, even for vegetarians, and you can pair the food with cocktails. We have...always had a great experience in Hytra and I will vouch for both food quality and service. Highly recommended!More
