Great food, amazing service :) A friend recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint....make reservations in advance not to be disappointed. Great energy and vibe....up market food without the pretence...a must every time I'm in Athens :)
Recommended by an Athenian friend, we lucked out without booking in advance. Neighbourhood restaurant with a great menu - we had smoky aubergine salad, grilled chicken, seafood pasta - all beautiful. Buzzy atmosphere and super friendly staff. Loved it!
Probably my favorite restaurant in Athens. Discovered it during spring 2019. They serve amazing food with great service and cheap prices! What else do you want? Try the mussels (omg, the best) the salad with the almiriki and the seafood risotto. Also, it is a...More
Four of us had lunch here based on a rave review from a friend. We were not disappointed. Food and service were excellent as was the wine. The food options were very healthy and included an eggplant appetizer, potato salad with smoked mackerel, pasta, pork...More
Our Air BnB is nearby and we were recommended this little simple eatery. The staff was attentive and recommended the marinated anchovies, the beef shank and a special of the day, pan fried sea bream. The food was really yummy!!! The price is also reasonable....More
I arranged a dinner for 30 colleagues at Mavro Provato. The staff were so lovely and accommodating. Having 30 people with at least 12 different nationalities and varying English language skills isn’t always easy to manage. Our waiter was extraordinarily patient and kind. The food...More
This small restaurant near the Hilton is great. you need a reservation because it is very popular. The food is Greek and includes meat, fish and vegetables prepared in a more european style. The portions are large and the dishes are made to share. Wine...More
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First
National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
