My twin brother Stephen and I jumped the tram down to the Koukaki District ,exploring around this part of town we chanced upon Amvrosia ,a wonderful tavern that was just a great find. I loved the look of this tavern ,a rustic interior ,great decor...and furnishings and lots of seating options spread throughout this tavern both inside and outside ,this is were we chose to sit on a roasting hot early afternoon . We ordered a bottled beer each from Amstel Brewery ,these bottled beers were served iced cold and sparkling ,we just kicked back, chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our beers . A big fan of the beer brewed by Amstel ,this delicious Dutch beer is a light, hoppy and very drinkable beer bursting with taste ,when served iced cold as in this tavern it's such a refreshing beer. We really enjoyed our beers in here ,only stayed for the one each before we moved on and for a first time visit to here we had a great time. Amvrosia is easy to locate along Dracou. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, midday till 1am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.More

Our party really enjoyed this restaurant. Their menu had many options that were well priced. We had a variety of dishes including Greek Salad, Fried Zucchini, Lamb Chops, and Gryos. Everyone enjoyed their food and the tzatziki sauce was amazing. The bathrooms were clean and...it is located on a neat little side road in central Athens.More

Ambrosia-Souvlaki on Dracou is a fantastic local restaurant and was the first place we visited on our third day in Athens. This is as local as it gets and was very busy when we visited here early in the afternoon. A well kept restaurant with brilliant...outside seating and this is were we sat as it was an extremely hot day.We only went here for a drink as we had only just had our meal but I wish we had held off as the meals coming out of the kitchen smelt delicious. When here we had an Amstel Brewery beer each which were served iced cold and well priced as we weren't in the city centre. This is a superb place to visit and when we visit Athens again we will come here for a meal and a few beers. Really easy to get to from Sygrou-Fix metro it's a few minute walk.(This is my first review of Ambrosia-Souvlaki). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-12.00-01.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. Sygrou-Fix bus stop. Metro Stop. Sygrou-Fix metro stop.More

Went there with friends, we tried the mixed grills and it was very good! The pork and chicken gyro and tasty and tender, the meat balls very good, the sausage was amazing… only the classic chicken was a little dry but still good. The fries...are nice and with tasty barbecue and mustard sauces. We also took a classic gyros, tasty pork meat, onions and pita bread… And you have to try their tsatziki!!More

This place is AMAZING. My husband and I came to Greece for a week and this was hands down the best food we had our whole trip. The chicken gyros were SO good. The prices are VERY affordable. Surprised this place doesn’t have a 5...star overall rating. This is a MUST on any trip to Athens.More

Terrific food and the price is right. Great for 3-6 parties so there will be lots of sharing, appetizers and salads were the biggest hits at our table.

We came here one evening mainly because it looked reasonable and it was close to our hotel. The staff seemed surly and unwelcoming, as if we were causing them a problem; it was not busy however. Although the first courses were good and tasty (Greek...salad and fried courgette) the mains (pasticcio and moussaka) were bland and tasteless. We didn't stay for a dessert. Prices were about average for the area. There are better choices available very close by.More

I got the pitta chicken gyro, I was a little worried that it would be tiny because of the price (less than €3) but it was the perfect size for lunch. Chicken was quite salty but other than that it was delicious. One of the...waiters was smoking a lot though, which did put me off slightly (I hate the smell of cigarette smoke!). I would still recommend a visit though as the food was really good!More

We turned up late here having just got off a flight hungry. After explaining there is currently a 10pm curfew we ordered quickly so that we would have time to enjoy it. We each ordered a beer with the food. The beers and food arrived...swiftly in plenty of time for us to enjoy it. We ordered plated pork giros which came with fries, and tomatoes and tzasdiki. The pitta was soft and delicious. The pork is sourced from their own farm so you know it's good. Really tasty, the pork was crisp and salty just as it should be and we were delighted to have something traditionally Greek having only just landed, we really felt that we had arrived. Friendly and efficient service. We would love to come back at least once more before we go home. Thank you.More

We were there on a friday night. Most of the food we ordered are not available. When we got food, mousakka was cold, as well as fries. Ok price, but dont expect too much taste. Many are smoking around the area. Sorry 😥

Although we went there many times owner and waiter was weird and kind of lazy complaining that we order a lot of food!!! Owner seems a smoke addict careless of the ban and especially his clients. Unthankful to the bone. Food was ok though.
