I visited here twice on a recent visit to Greece when I was staying in Athens at the each end of my visit to several of the Islands. I had Pork Gyros plate on both occasions with half a litre of white wine. The food and service is good, and a relaxed chilled atmosphere. Great value for the food also.

I visit Club Neon every time I am in Athens. The food is the genuine Greek article and the prices are very reasonable. Service is always excellent. The location in a laneway back from the main road means that you avoid the noise and petrol fumes, giving you a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy your meal.

I visited the Club Neon Taverna for an evening meal whilst staying nearby whilst I was in Athens. The food was tasty, and good value, and the waiters were friendly and good service. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

This place is a really good choice when you want to taste greek food! It has an outdoor and an indoor. The indoor is very cosy and the waiter is very welcoming. The service was fast. We tasted their greek salad, the fetta in the oven, the moussaka and the Curry chicken platter. They were all very delicious (the curry... More

It was a night back from a two day tour and this place was the closest in the vicinity that was open for late dinner! Good was very fast food type-but service was phenomenal.

I visit here on a regular basis for an evening meal when I am in Athens, as I stay at a hotel close bye and the Taverna is a great little gem. Alot of locals come here, the food is tasty and also good value.

Neon was our first restaurant experience in Venus and we were delighted. It is located in Omonia close to Metro and numerous hotels. We had the Chicken Souvlaki along with Kabobs, very good. The only reason we ate there just the one time is that there are so many great places.

Been eating here for a couple of nights during my stay in Athens (Omonia). Close to the metro station and in walking range of many hotels. Kostas, the waiter, is a very nice well-spoken Greek knowing his languages and his foods. My first meal was a complete wild guess, he noticed that and advised me the Beef Stew, which was... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
