I cannot imagine a rating less than 5. It must have been a strange evening.
They could not have been more accommodating when we arrived. They were very helpful in making the food selection and wines.
They alerted us that the salad, which was delicious, could be shared
The fish for two prepared with oil and salt was delicious.
I would not hesitate to recommend it for food and service as a must go to place

Really enjoyed outstanding seafood at this local restaurant…..fresh, delicious and expertly prepared to a standard higher than most top fish restaurants in London, Paris, NYC or Tokyo.
Service was exceptional, particularly from the waitress who served us and the lady who took the orders. They were super-efficient, friendly and professional and just couldn’t do enough to help. One member of my group proclaimed the chilli prawns to be the best starter he had ever eaten!
So why the 4 stars you ask? Here’s why:
The usual Greek total ambivalence when confronted with an issue.
We asked for the bill (€206 for 3 with 1 glass of wine…..this is astronomical for Greek standards and should be read as €706 by international standards) and it turns out they don’t take AMEX. Not an issue in itself but when asked why, the snotty little girl who had brought it (ring thru her nose, like the pig in Lear’s “The Owl and the Pussycat) exclaimed “This is the same all over Greece. It’s not my problem!” She knew I was irked, so did her bosses but did a single one of them have the professionalism to come and chat about it….OF COURSE NOT, because they are gutless cowards who are so up their own as@&s that they actually just don’t give a damn.
A great night spoiled by incompetent management. The owners ought to be ashamed to keep these type of people in work.

We were a group of 10 including kids, so we had the opportunity to order quite a few dishes from the menu and share them. All where great. The salads, the starters, the seafood pasta, the meat dishes and the deserts. Try the cream pie. I am guessing that it is not always available, but if so, try the mandarin sorbet. Always happy when I find wines from Muses Estate, try the Lisgari which is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Mouchtaro. Service was of high standards.

Awful arrogant service and staff , food is overpriced and mediocre One can eat far higher quality of food at many a restaurant in Athens. Don't waste your money . I was shocked to also observe the bullying behaviour of the owner to a woman resident of the street , thug like . AVOID !!

I have been visiting Athens for 20 years and lived in Greece for some time. Finally, I have found something I believed impossible: an overpriced restaurant with mediocre food and awful service. I consider myself a “foodie” and I have worked in hospitality myself.
In many restaurants around the world and especially in Greece, complementary bread and dips are provided along with water. Here, although we were not asked if we wished for such things, we found ourselves billed 12 euros for them (bread and dips plus water). The staff were barely polite, and the sauce served with the orzo and fish fillet simply did not match the taste of the fish whatsoever. Furthermore the lemonade was so sickeningly sweet - after a request to make sure it was not too sweet - that even diluted it was barely drinkable.
The chef may be famous. The restaurant should not be. Do yourself a favour and walk down two or three flights of steps into mainstream Kolonaki.

Horrible. We ordered a starter with octopus, it was uneatable, the main dishes were linguini with shrimp and tataglielle with mushrooms, both mediocer. We payed 92 euros and would have been better fed by eating a slice of pizza.

The choice of the Papadakis restaurant was a disappointing experience. This is the second time I choose this restaurant. The first time was a few years ago and it was truly a unique taste experience. Now everything was different. Very bad service, the food was not tasty at all, the person in charge was rude. The owner of the restaurant: absent. We were 3 moms with our children. We ordered at 8.45. We had said that the children were very hungry, and we begged them to bring their portions as quickly as they could. After the salad and appetizer came, the children's food came at 10.00 and ours at 10.45. During our wait, we asked why the children's food was late, they told us 'now, in a little while, it's coming...' Not at all professional treatment. Then the manager mocked us saying in a critical tone "you didn't ask us to have the main meal with the appetizers. This is how it happens in restaurants '' as if we had never been to another restaurant before. Unacceptable. They didn't bring us the 10 euro change they were supposed to give us, we were looking for the receipt and they couldn't find it... And the food was tasteless, mediocre, indifferent... Argyros Barbarigou's shop was ruined. I do not recommend it under any circumstances. Shame, shame, shame...

After enjoying the amazing views of Athens from the top of Lycabettus Hill we called in to Papadikis for a spot of lunch. We were shown to a table. Service for water, menus etc was slow but we were not in any rush so not unduly bothered. Getting our order taken was a bit laboured as was ordering our drinks and getting a second small serving of hummus to go with the six slices of very nice bread. The wait for our main course took ages, and despite numerous efforts trying to catch any of the waitresses attention was fruitless. Finally, two of our main courses were served to the table yet after a near 10 minute wait we still hadn’t been served the third. Again, each waitress that appeared in our area completely ignored our table and only responded when I called ‘excuse’ me from our table. She told us our final dish was coming, well of course it didn’t. I then went in to the main restaurant service area to enquire after our final dish to be told that it was coming and that they were ‘busy’. Which was strange because not all tables were occupied and this wasn’t mentioned when we first arrived and asked for a table or when we ordered our food. After a few minutes the final dish was served. The attitude of each and every server was poor which is a shame because the food was fine, and that was firstly two goats cheese and walnut salads, and the third dish, a Greek Salad! You couldn’t make it up!

This is a nice restaurant near Lycabettus. It is in a quiet clean neighborhood. We had a variety of dishes - baby squid, grouper, orzo with prawns. All of it was very good. There is a dining area outside as well as inside. We enjoyed all of our meals. Our only disappointment was that we had probably 6 servers for the whole meal. No one ever came back twice meaning there wasn’t any continuity in service or knowledge of our previous requests. We were always starting new when another server came by. If we had one server and didn’t have to repeat requests, our review would have been 5 stars

We were a walk in to this restuarant and as elsewhere were quickly told you have the table for 90 minutes. the food was good - sea bream and a shrimp pasts dish but the blonde waitress was almost dismissive in the way she spoke to us and served the food. Nice setting as we sat outside but spoilt by the service

In a swanky neighborhood at the top of a steep hill, lies this exceptional Greek restaurant. Come dine with Athen’s fashionable elite with a sliver of a view of the Acropolis. Standout dishes were a green salad with hot baked goat cheese, grilled eggplant, a special of langoustines with orzo, and a triple chocolate tort with dreamy tonka bean ice cream

Very good location in Kolonaki by a Greek celebrity chef. Outside tables are pleasant. The food is good and not excessively pricey given the neighbourhood.
We tried the chickpea salad, some pasta and fish dishes - they were all well-prepared (excellent sea-bass fillet) but a bit less sophisticated that one would expect.
The wine list is largely focused on Greek wines. We tried wine by glass which was ok.

I can't say we were thrilled with the dishes.
We took:
1) Rofos fricassee. Its taste was simple and indifferent and it was one of their most expensive dishes. I would cook it better!!!
2) Barley with shrimps. It was a good dish.
3) Chicken fillet. It was pretty good.
4) Salad. It was indifferent in taste and extremely simple.
5) Dumplings. It was excellent!!!!!!!
I wouldn't go again, unless I was just going to eat dolmades....

Unfortunately it was a disappointed experience. The food was solid, but not exceptionally amazing. However if it was just the food I dont think me or my family would have any complaints, but the service was awful. It took us an hour and a half to get a few plates of food, and nothing that should have taken nearly that long. I mean 30 minutes for a salad and another 30 minutes after that for the next plate. It was painfully slow. The restaurant was only 30-40% full as well.

A delightful menu and experience.
We really enjoyed our evening - quiet, intimate, delicious.
If you get tired of the tourist center, but don't want to go too far, this is a nice walk from the center of town. And definitely worth it.

Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
