What a great experience. The food is sensational ...all home made by the owner! She is very friendly and provides excellent service to her customers. We have been twice and have tried cheese pie, spinach pie, meat pie and the Greek bougatsa sweet. The best bougatsa we have had in Athens. The owner makes her own pastry for all her pies and sweets. If in the area please find this cafe and try the food you will not regret it !

Lovely small pie place with warm welcome from Ioanna.
All fresh, produced on the spot, hand-made, made with loads of love which you shall taste in the food served.
Have been commuting for 1 hour each way to get to Cocona and enjoy the pies and not only.
Thank you Cocona for the experience and the love put in the food created from scratch.
Strongly recommend.

Love, love, love this place. Tasty, fresh food, nice people serving, and a quiet place to sit and enjoy your meal. The food is very cheap for the quality of food. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Highly recommend coming to the place. In one word, delicious and in two words very delicious. Simple and excellent, everything is fresh and prepared on the spot. As small as the place is, it is big on flavors. It's especially worth coming even though it's on the less touristy side of Athens

Cocona is a hidden gem in the lovely neighbourhood of Kolonaki! We had the spinach and cheese gozleme which was delicious but the gozleme with bougatsa cream was our highlight! Amazing flavours! The love and care the cook puts into her cooking is admiring and the story behind her recipes is truly nostalgic! Highly recommended!

The taste of giozleme "a delicacy of Minor Asia" is splendid. Many thanks to Mrs. Ioanna for her warm attitude

We had discovered this hidden gem by pure accident! Located in a beautiful Kolonaki area of Athens, COCONA has an excellent, delicious and healthy street food. It’s a place one must visit while in Athens!
The owner, Cocona, was extremely kind and gracious. She made recommendations to us what to order and took time to talk to us in person. It’s a small place with very few chairs outside but the atmosphere is welcoming, clean and serves delicious Gözlemes! Gözleme is handmade pastry sheet (fyllo) filled with various toppings. We had Gözleme with chicken; Gözleme with four cheeses; one with spinach and for our sweet tooth we ordered one filled with sweat cream and Cocona’s made chocolate! Everything was delicious and fresh! We highly recommend this place! It’s great for families, our kids absolutely loved it! One of the highlights during our visit.

Loved the crepe-like (thin) savoury pancake at Cocona - on a nice green pedestrian street in Kolonaki.
I asked for a different mix of ingredients then available as standard. They happily complied and found some paprika for me in the back when I requested to add a bit.
At €4.50, a tasty and light snack with extremely friendly service. I will certainly be back. Well worth the 7 min wait.

Found out about this place thanks to a positive culinary critique in my local paper, so couldn't pass up. Product did not disappoint, gentle and tasty version of the more familiar - and coarse - street food. We had the "gozleme," spinach was great (mushroom was fine too) as was the sweet bougatsa cream. About a ten-minute walk from Syntagma in a more upscale area tourists tend not to frequent. Only caveat - hence four (not five) stars: takes a bit of preparation time, so in comparison with the ready-made pies the "gozleme" is less like street food.

Every time I visit Athens, I have to go here! The artist of street food in Athens finds herself again and again. The Bujatza ( Greek specialty ) is the best of the city! One must be for every Athens visitor.

This is a small place in a middle of a pedestrian street. It is well decorated and the owner is super friendly. The Lachmcun is made right in front of you, and it is just great, crispy and delicious with the yogurt on the side. The cheese home made pie with the herb is also very delicious.

Kolonaki / Lykavittos
By far the ritziest neighborhood in town, Kolonaki is home to most of the chic boutiques and designer label stores. Here, the wealthy say no to austerity by dressing in their finest and spending hours in the trendy cafés around Kolonaki Square, sipping the most expensive coffee in Europe. The area also contains a couple of notable museums and cultural institutions, which add to the air of nobility. The leafy upper reaches of Kolonaki transition into Lykavittos Hill, the highest point in central Athens. Climb the paths through its wooded slopes to the tiny chapel at the top, from where you are rewarded with stunning views across the Acropolis to the sea and even the mountains of the Peloponnese on a clear day. The wooden amphitheater up here hosts regular concerts during the summer.
