Great restaurant with 100% vegetarian menu with vegan options. I had moussaka, most delicious one I've ever had. Boyfriend had mushroom burger and chips which he was very happy with. Excellent attentive service. The only aspect I didn't like was that because of the open patio, cigarette smoke comes in to the restaurant. But then that seems to be standard... More

After reading the reviews on this restaurant I decided to give it a try. I have been looking for a vegetarian version of Moussaka ever since I got to greece two weeks ago and was thrilled to find it on the menu. The restaurant was about to close for the summer and the menu was a bit restricted, but the... More

Even thoght we arrived some minutes before closing we were wellcomed and we took a the dinner on the beautifull terrence. I choose a common food, some vegetables and rise, but when I've tested it it was so delicious due to the condiments like turmeric.

I was excited to find a vegetarian place close to my hotel in Syntagma - walkable. But the food was nothing to write home about. We ordered the cucumber/avocado soup, gnocchi and two of the pizzas for a group of three. We were the only diners at the restaurant besides one other couple. The food took upwards of 45 minutes... Great range of Vegetarian food, good atmosphere and helpful hosts - had the souvlaki and moussaka and both were tasty. Desserts were very interesting: chocolate/ginger/date tart was heavy on the palate but worth trying and the avocado ice-cream was rich but well balanced with the refreshing orange/lime rind elements. Only improvement would be more salad in the souvlaki! Would definitely... More

I was really excited about trying Rosebud but didn't find it to be anything to write home about. I ordered the coconut curry which had an interesting flavour but was not filling for a main course. I had hoped it would have tofu or chickpeas in it, but it was only vegetables and green peas. The portion was not large... More

The plate you chose is one of the best sellers of our menu (actually we have it 2 years ), and there is description of the ingredients also in the menu . The quantity is normal and the price too. We are vegetarian - vegan restaurant and of course we are very sensitive to allergies so we have marked the... More

I was very excited about trying Rosebud, after having tried the other great Athens vegetarian restaurants. Sadly, my experience was lackluster. The space looks far better on the photos than it actually is - in reality it's noisy and not very comforting to sit. The waiter was kind and friendly, but managed somehow (perhaps being too preoccupied with appearing friendly)... More

I am very sorry of your bad experience , but you could have asked the manager to complain about the wrong order, or just to refer the problem to the waiter. The price of this plate is 7.80 euros , not 11.00 . Our veranda outside is noisy sometimes ( althought you say you were the only customers at that... More

This place is great! Very friendly staff, good menu and tasty food. It's located just wear the base of mount lycabettus so was convenient for us to eat there after our hike up and down. We had souvlaki which was fantastic. Portion was a little on the small side so I ordered a second one as I'm greedy. My wife... More

Staying in Exarchia

Neighborhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
