Went there for Valentine's dinner, beautiful classy atmosphere, amazing singer/ piano player. The most astonishing view of the acropolis would have said worth every penny if it wasn't for the valentine set menu, which was not up to our expectations.

Wonderful view with more than adequate food but very very pricey. Menu is totally ALA Carte...you pay for absolutely everything you get. Bread, olives, butter, main course, side dishes....everything. But it is a beautiful setting with a stunning view....go for the experience not necessarily the food.

Perfect view of the Acropolis. The menu is nice but a bit overpriced. Extensive Greek wine list. The terrace is amazing in the summer.

The views of the Acropolis are perfect from the first floor restaurant. Downstairs offers cafe style seating across cool, marble floors. The location and decor feel stylish. We were only there for a coach stop drink. Nonetheless, worth revisiting for the food and nightime views.

Which was supposed to be a romantic evening with the two of us, ended with an evening full of disappointment. To start of with, you enter the restaurant, where a gentleman stands next to the door, greets you, but refuses to open the door for you. We have seen the menu beforehand and due to the prices, we expected excellent... More

The reasturant offers fantastic Greak food. Everything was perfect. Exceptional and very tasty. The environment is fantastic and the Acropolis view is excellent. On the negative the restaurant is very expensive.

That Dionysos Zonar's has a great location is undisputable. You can see the Acropolis from the windows, the streets around the area are great for a walk and there is plenty of parking space for the tourist buses. But I actually went there because I heard that the food was great as well. Things started to go wrong from the... More

There's no doubt that the view is great, but so is the service, food and ambiance. We were on holiday but we felt easily comfortable in this unpretentious but elegant restaurant. There's a talented pianist who adds just the right touch with his tunes, keeps it classy and enjoyable. Great evening !

The hotel recommended and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is elegant, but not nouveau riche, the service is impeccable and the food very good. Not the cheapest restaurant, but worth the price.

We love Dionysos.... We do not visit often, but we do visit special. We trust this place that will give our guests (especially from abroad) an excellent sense of Greek cuisine and a breathtaking view. We trust this place that can accommodate all of out extended family, demanding and tiring every New Year day lunch. Food gets better and better... More

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
