ensure you book! but they will fit you if they can and you want to wait. open from lunchtime all day , this is a roof top restaurant at the Hotel Grande Bretagne at which we were staying. The hotel is old style grand (RITZ / Waldorf comparison) but the restaurant is stylish modern and can be loud! food was... More

I'm not sure which was better.... The food or the view. We had a great romantic table (which we requested) with a view of the Acropolis. We ordered a delicious bottle of local Red wine that was affordable and delicious. Appetizers not to miss - the Tuna and the calamari that melted in you mouth. For entrees we had the... More

The place has and active, trendy cosmopolitan feel where you will be surrounded by the elegant and the more laid back tourists. While you enjoy the view of the Acropolis you can also appreciate a world class mixologist and an excellent wine list. The house wine by the glass is outstanding as well. When I first glanced at the menu... More

It is a real joy to eat here, should you be lucky enough to get a reservation as it is a very popular place. Service was impeccable, but not stuffy, and I was impressed to be asked if I have any food allergies. The food was truly wonderful and cooked to perfection and there was a comfortable and inviting ambience.... More

It's the restaurant with the most gorgeous view you could ever imagine, with the Acropolis and Syntagma square and Lycabetus hill just in front of you. I would recommend you to taste the Tears of Chios coctail...just magnificent. You can enjoy a nice dinner with a view of 3000 y old monuments. A bit expensive, but worth it.

This is a restaurant on roof of the top hotel in athens. I am a regular here and have to say food is very good, especially for greece. However it hasn't always been perfect. For a good three course meal for two people with wine it's around 180-200 which is cheap compared to similar places in other countries. View is... More

This was the last night of our trip to the Mediterranean and it was perfect. It was a warm day but we felt very comfortable sitting outside while the sun set. The view has to be one of the best in the city, as it overlooks Acropolis. It is hard to place words on the experience but would say that... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
