Schedule dinner when it becomes dark and the Parthenon on Acropolis is lit up. Ask for seat on outside porch.

Viewing the Acropolis from the rooftop bar is one of the best things to do in Athens. The drinks are expensive but it's worth treating yourself if you are on holiday. There is a dress code but we were allowed in during the afternoon with shorts and flip flops just for drinks although a stricter code applies if you are... More

While staying at the hotel we had both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. Note: The restaurant stays firm to its' dress code for dinner. The views of Athens and the Parthenon are no doubt some of the best in all of Athens and the restaurant has set aside an excellent spot for guests to take photographs. The bar service... More

While in Athens go to have dinner in this restaurant. The view is overwhelming ! The best time to get there in summer is around 7 p.m., so you can have a cocktail before the sunset. Depending on which month is, the time of the sunset changes, so I recommend you to have a look on sunset hour before. Ask... More

We had lunch at this restaurant which is a quiet oasis in the middle of a crowded Athens area. The food was delicious, the staff and waiters were very attentive, and you can't beat the view of the Acropolis. Return here at night to have a drink at the bar and see the acropolis lit up!

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
