My favorite pie shop in Athens. It has a wide range of savoury pies that’s not just spanakopita and tyropita. Highly recommend.

The place has existed for 110 years. There are loads of pastries with cheese. And the price is really cheap. Breakfast is recommended instead. The facts of the place are true Greek that provide excellent service. Highly recommended

Maybe the best “Kourou” cheese pie ever had!! A place from 1910 that offering pure Greek pies. To be honest we have visited place in the morning but also in the afternoon of same day in order to taste the “homemade” delicious pies.

Tucked "around the corner" from the main drags in the historic downtown Athens' city center, Ariston is a culinary trip to older times...tastier times... Sumptuous varieties of traditional hand pies (in Greek: πιτες ταψιου -- or literally baking dish pies) served "to go" in this...traditional bakery. I make a point to visit every time I am in Athens. It's a testament to the flavors and fresh ingredients, that despite three other "pie places" surrounding Ariston, there is still a modest line (don't worry, it moves fast) out their door! Next time you're near Syntagma square, make a point to stop by. The Fennel Pie is one of my favorites...More

My family visited Athens in October 2019. During our visit, we stopped by the Artiston bakery almost daily. The selection of quality baked goods was excellent and delicious. They were also very friendly to our infant daughter. Delightful people and excellent food - it doesn't...get much better!More

A wonderful traditional bakery. No frills just a great selection of superb pastries. Pastry is very flaky and the fillings are delicious. The chicken bacon is excellent, as is the apple & walnut.

This is a small unassuming bakery, very close to Sintagma square with a great selection of traditional Greek pastries. It looks and is prepared old school and tastes fantastic. Especially recommended is the "bougatsa" - a filo and milk cream pastry, considered to be a...typical on the go breakfast. You should also try the various "pita" - savory filo pastiesMore

Heard about this one through a ‘best in Athens’ list and it certainly serves very good pies. Spanakopita was delicious as was the fresh cream ( like ricotta) pie. Lovely friendly service too.

This remains my go-to place for spanakopita in Athens. Large selection of pastries with a variety of fillings and many vegetarian and vegan-friendly options (including cheeseless spanakopita), all for 2.20 euros. Convenient central location off of Syntagma, friendly service. This a small bakery, so plan...on consuming your purchases elsewhere--or eat on the go as many do.More

It's open around 8:00 am. If you're looking for something earlier in the same area, there is a place called Everest close by.
