We were booked in at 8 but our flight was delayed so we arrived about 20 minutes late (we did let them know) but it was not an issue. Being Valentines it was very busy but the service and food were excellent. Much more the traditional Michelin experience (we could have been in Paris) The Greek wine we had was... More

We had a New Year's Eve dinner with a group of 10 friends. The set menu was delicious, the wine pairing and the service was perfect. We enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for the wonderful cake at the end of the dinner.

This is one of the best restaurants in town and I am probably doing it a disservice by writing about it today. We went to try it out because during "Food Week" it was offering a set menu for 69e per person without wine. The courses were numerous but none larger than a couple of bites, but I suppose this... We booked a table in advance for my wife's birthday and had what was close to the best meal ever. The food was outstanding (expensive) and the service was superb, especially thanks to Christian and Angelos the Maitre d' and sommelier. I had foie gras to start which just melted in my mouth and even my wife who hates foie... More

If you are in Athenes, this is definetely a restaurant you should try out. The french cuisine is exquisite, the ingredients are very fresh, the staff is very friendly.

I'm a foodie, I travel around for fine dining and Spondi is still one of my favourite places. Be it for the amazingly flavourful yet light menu, full of rare delicacies and fresh products. Be it for the picturesque outdoor terrace or the baroque interior. Be it for the impeccable yet not pretentious service. Be it for the fantastic cheese... More

We love Spondi. Some years ago we had the best time there welcoming the new year. We decided to repeat it but unfortunately, the experience was not equally enjoyable. Firstly, the menu did not have pairing glasses of wines as promised. Service was unorganized and nervous, causing big delays (3,5 hours for 7 plates), customer complaints, and evident personnel brawls.... More

We found this place in Dec. 2015 only accidentally and were very pleasantly surprised by the dining experience. While the main course (veal) was slightly overcooked, the starters and the deserts were just magnificent. Very nice flavours with attentive and professional service.

We had a decent meal, but I expected a lot more from a two star restaurant. A cuvée speciale or millésime as the house champagne, more than 2 amuses bouches, a different wine for each course, ...

Staying in Pangrati

Neighborhood Profile
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
