To get to spend an entire evening at Spondi provides a memory for life. It's a culinary experience from the first moment to the last moment. Everything is magically delicious! This evening we drank Greek wine to the menu which was amazingly good! The atmosphere, the amazing personal and friendly service make this to be a memory for life. This... More

We booked one week in advance for our third anniversary celebration deciding on this restaurant over other fine choices basing on our choice on the reputation this restaurant has for exceptional service in the old fashioned way From the moment we arrived the service was less than acceptable for a restaurant of your standard. The maître informed us that there... More

Spondi is surely one of the best gourmet restaurants in Athens and of course in Greece. For sure the food is very good and made from the best of qualities and material. Really provocative plates and new flavors. We particularly liked the foie gras and the scallops were perfect. Very nice duck and lamp as well as the main course.... More

We had dinner in this restaurant when they celebrated their 20th anniversary. For this occasion they had a special menu and it was really again worth the visit. Every time we come to Athens, we are visiting this restaurant and it is always one of the highlights of our visit. Already look forward now to our next visit.

A fantastic restaurant with a wonderful and service minded staff! As soon you enter the restaurant you are almost embraced from the staff - I get the feeling that the staff loves working at the spondi. We had the menu recommended for us with wine pairing (Greek wines). I was amazed of the Greek wines - splendid pairing with the... More

I am obsessed with food and on our last night of a two-week vacation in Greece, my dream came true and we dined at a Michelin (two star) restaurant. It was everything I imagined and more. Innovative, creative, beautiful, delicious. The service was top notch. I loved that I received a menu at the end of the meal (we did... More

With the Initiation Menu with 3 glasses of wine it was 110 euros a head. Cheap? for everyday? certainly not BUT for the flavors, textures, presentation & service you get, it is very, very fair (any time I go to a sushi place I end up forking out 80/90 euros). I insist on this because the accepted perception is that... More

Angelo Lantos the chef behind legendary Michelin starred restaurant Spondi . The restaurant is charming , very simple and elegant . The bricked ceiling , earthy interiors , subtly luxury , instantly makes you relate to the golden age of Greece . The hospitality offered by the staff was so heart warming . Christine the restaurant manager , wore the... More

Spondi is indeed earned its two Michelin stars. A bit off the centre of Athens but well worth the taxi drive. If in Plaka actually walking distance if you know the way or use Google Maps for navigation. Had the longer 'discovery' tasting menu. At 139 eur without wine it's of course expensive but for a special occasion it perfect.... More

We choose the four course 'Initiation Menu' for dinner and it was perfect for our needs. We had eaten lunch out earlier in the day and could not fit a full six course tasting menu in. You can also do a la carte here for dinner if you choose. However, the four course tasting menu with two glasses of wine... More

Staying in Pangrati

Neighborhood Profile
Pangrati
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
