Step back in time

While driving from the Sault to Thunder Bay, we stopped off at The Voy for lunch. My husband talked about how he grew up with this chain and was thrilled to stop at a true Canadian diner. The staff was very accommodating and the menu was what a typical 50's/60's menu would include. The fries were... read more

Warm and friendly service...Can't go wrong with Cathy as your waitress...friendly and warm service with a smile. Make you feel like your part of the family and the town.

Should have read the reviews, but on the road and no WiFi available. The service was terrible. We had a new waiter that we thought was supervised. NOT! The service was not only slow, but the food was very good. Doing the Superior Circle you have very limited places to eat. We stayed in Roosport traveling west. We wished we... More

We settled on this place because we couldn't find anything else.It is pleasant enough and the food was OK but not anything special.I had a club sandwich and my wife had quesadias.Portions were large and the waitress was friendly. The décor is pleasant enough but keep in mind that this place is a typical roadside restaurant.

The service was very friendly and attentive. We had a simple meal, fish and homemade chips, with a side of onion rings. I was looking forward to homemade chips, but, they were some what under cooked, although the out side was nice and dark (probably old oil). The veggies were cold, and it was the worst fish I have had... More

After reading reviews of restaurants along the highway, we settled in the Voyageur, it is just a regular restaurant, we both ordered a hot turkey sandwich, which was good enough but the fries were not that tasty. Service was fast and friendly! We shared a piece of homemade coconut cream pie, it was a very generous piece and quite tasty.

We decided to have supper here based on Trip Advisor reviews...boy.. Were we disappointed....supper was,in a word, terrible. The veal cutlets were three small ,overcooked ,frozen pieces of something masquerading as meat. Carrots were from a can and lukewarm. Fries-small,overcooked and bone hard. I enjoy home cooked pies but after the supper fiasco, decided not to chance desert.

I have been to the voyager on a few occasions. Consistently good food with attentive staff. You can tell the menu is a bit dated but they are moving to improve that with new requested items. This visit I had a bacon cheese burger with fries abs no complaints. Burger was home made, cooked well and a very reasonable price.... More
