About
We are in Porto but our soul travels the world. The way we see it, a restaurant is a welcoming house full of nice and pleased people, tables glittering with a bouquet of enchants. Therefore we seek every day for local fresh products, which we cook guided by our passion of world flavours, creating and recreating those memories of other places and other times. Every day we welcome people from distant lands or from just around the corner, with the same enthusiasm for having them at our table, in this house where the team is a melting pot of cultures and languages, making the hosting so natural and giving colour to the ambience. Feel very welcome!

This restaurant is a complete surprise. It doesn't look like much from the road. In fact you could walk past a dozen times and not even notice it. But when you go inside it sort of opens up into a lovely warm informal restaurant on...the ground and first floor. We could only get a table at 7pm - it was full all the rest of the evening - but we were delighted that we went for it. This is one of those places where everything is good. The service was professional, welcoming and attentive; the menu was extensive, and delicious; the wine list was good; the bill was very reasonable and the other customers, all having a thoroughly good time, like us, were an interesting mix of locals and tourists. This was just great Portuguese food, cooked really well. There is nothing fancy about it; it just concentrates on looking after its guests and giving them a great meal. And we absolutely loved it. Do book ahead, though. The word is out; this is a busy restaurant and without a reservation you will be lucky to get a table.More

Once of the best experiences I have ever had. So friendly. Food amazing. Essential on any trip to Porto. Right beside Sao Bento Train Station. A lady who gave us 50 cent for a bus trip recommended this to us. We were delighted. Book a...reservation so as not to be disappointed. Hostess and waiting staff were so accommodating and professional.More

I went in after reading great reviews and was certainly NOT disappointed! Oh my days, the food is so well presented and such a good quality! It was my last meal in Porto and I am happy I went to Tapabento as it was the...perfect “goodbye”. Welcoming team, clean space, great food and in a perfect location (a bit hidden actually, so look for it and you won’t regret). I did not a book a table but I was there on a Saturday, midday on the dot when they opened and were able to get a table for 1.5hours. You may not want to risk it like I did so book a table, as this is something you certainly do not want to miss. I ordered their Tuna tartare and Lime pincho + Wild shrimp risotto and their homemade lemonade.. oh how I miss it already.. Thank you for the great food and atmosphere, Tapabento! See you again!More

This is totally a great experience and worth to wait for the tables!! I do suggest to call or message for a reservation to make sure to not spending your time outside the restaurant. About the food? I’ll make it short “SCRUMPTIOUS”

My husband and I first found this great restaurant in 2019. We returned today and it was superb. Isabel and her lovely staff outdid themselves. The food is fresh, delicious, so creatively prepared and the service is first rate. Trust us when we say, it...is the best place in Porto.More

This place has incredible food, really nice and attentive service, and overall great vibes. We went to eat a bit earlier than the average Portuguese (I was told that they start their dinners late, 9 ish late) which suited my friend and I perfectly since...we had no reservation but we could still get a table from 7 to 9 outside where they were kind enough to give us blankets when it got a bit chilly. We ate some appetizers, I had my first taste of oyster then we ordered mussels in a garlic sauce and the best shrimp in the most divine sauce (I have no idea what was in it, but we cleaned the place with the bread that the staff provided us-because the things was too good to go to waste) and then a shared desert...something with mille-feuille, also good. It was the perfect dinner and it made me want to prolong our stay to be able to go there again. But I will return and it's not just the food that makes me say that. the staff and overall friendly atmosphere are part of the experience.More

Wonderful tapas, the croquetas made of Portuguese chourina is one of the best. The tataki Tuna was also well prepared. The basic goreng was a bit burned but okayish. The pan con tomato and tortilla were excellent. Finally the desert were awesome

Lots of options for everyone, seafood or not. Very dietary restriction friendly and just overall delicious! I have many food restrictions and appreciated how easily I could eat here.
