I visited Taberna in late April 2019 on a short trip to Porto with a friend of mine. What an incredible gastronomic and cultural experience! The walls are made of gorgeous Portuguese stone, decorated with instruments and art. I noticed that the place DOES get...More
Taberna St Antonio is the sort of place that you would walk past and not even consider. Don't. Yes, its small, and a bit noisy, but great atmosphere and great Portuguese food.
The service was good and the food unbelievable.

Taberna is probably one of the best places where I ate in Porto. It’s a family run business and that’s probably the reason behind the charm of the place. There are not many seats inside, but they serva good at the bar as well. The...More
Very authentic place with local dishes on the menu, e.g. Pastéis de Bacalhau, Feijoqda, Sardines with tomato rice...
The Chocolate Mousee is also a must here.
Perfect value for money, you should try it when in Porto.
A small gem in Porto! We went for lunch as we arrived in the city to try the bacalhau. Although being very crowded and rather small, the waiter did even find a place for our luggage! The food was great, it felt more like being...More

If you google Taberna Santo Antonio and go to their site you will be able to see lots of photos of their dishes, which, by the way, are fabulous . As far as I remember, the times I went to the Taberna they offered daily menus which changes every day for each turn: mid-day lunch hour and nightly dinner time. In fact, once I went by at around 3PM and asked them what they were having for dinner at 7:30 and their answer was: " we still do not know. We'll decide later on". So I figure they may not have a regular, written menu. My advice is to make reservations ( it is a small place and usually packed) and allow yourself to trust their food confections. Disappointments are extremely rare. They cook with love and dedication. It is a traditional family eatery.
