Authentic atmosphere and friendly service. I ordered the vegetable soup which was nice but the beef dish I ordered was overcooked, bland and overpriced (12 euro). Maybe I ordered wrong.

good, typical food, huge portions, delicious wine: the 1/2 doce which is usually for one person is really huge you can hardly finish, the atmosphere is a typical portugues familiar one, sometimes the family with 3 generations sits and one of the tables, fresh and delicious food

We visited on our first night in Porto and like others have said found it with some difficulty. But it is worth perserving to get to it because we found a simple friendly restaurant without any airs and graces but with nice food and wine at keen prices. The portion sizes are massive-I love my grub but even for me a... More

A traditional restaurant, worth visiting, where you can find Portuguese traditional food. DOn't be afraid of trying different recipes, or ask for support the local employees.

Nice and historical restaurant in a typical Oporto street. Menu is short, and options available were even shorter. Octopus was ok, but not amazing. Wine is good with good price. Overall: not disappointing, but some more care to the food and service would make it much better

This is a small, inconspicuous restaurant, that serves very well done traditional Portuguese food, with good ingredients. The octopus in the oven is excellent, as are the "lombinhos de salpicão", the "alheira" and "chouriços" as appetizers, the bread, the desserts... everything I have ever eaten here is good! However, the food is quite "heavy" and the portions are generous, so... More

If you’re expecting a fancy restaurant with a staff dressed in formal dresses and suits you’re gonna be disappointed. This is informal, but with a fantastic atmosphere, honest, tasty and great food and really good service. Go there if you are really hungry – and even then it is fine to order half portions. The restaurant is a little tricky... More

We were directed to this family owned restaurant by a local. The recommendation was that the food was very good, very typically Portuguese and that the portions were very large. The recommendation was to ask for half serves as the plates were so big. This restaurant is in a narrow alley and its esential to keep the eyes open not... More

The Adega Vila Meã is a very small restaurant hidden in the streets of Porto, and it is a very simple place, but with a cozy atmosphere, and some fantastic food. It is a family-owned restaurant, and you'll be served by the owner himself. Quantity of food is really huge, and do ask the owner to recommend you a wine... More
