Make sure you book because it is a very small restaurant. We went because of the buzz around it and weren't disappointed. The pork cheeks are so soft and the monkfish is such a unique and wonderful taste. We ended up having another main (the prawns - absolutely incredible) as well as two starters and dessert. Hidden gem, best place... More

We were staying on the river front in Porto which was lovely during the day, especially weekdays but in the evening it was heaving with tourists. How lucky we were that I had pre-booked this restaurant before leaving the UK. We found it without too much trouble and what a treat was in store for us. Everything starting with the... More

Make a reservation! This quaint place is top notch and worth planning ahead. The owner went out of her way to make sure we had a pleasant dining experience in a non-rushed style which we really enjoyed. Each course was thoughtful and fresh and it was a highlight in Porto.

After a disappointment in Sardinia last year using tripadvisor for restaurant recommendations tried again and hit a winner. That was after struggling to find it ! Took 15 minutes before we found a simple blue door and a barely readable menu, open the door and you are in a standard hall way of an apartment ! No signs or arrows... More

I had dinner there with my boyfriend for our anniversary and everything was just perfect! The place is really tiny and cozy which was great for a romantic dinner. Delicious food and attentive service. I totally recommend it!

The best food and the best restaurant experience I had during my time in Porto, or have had, possibly, ever. I thought I was going to fall in love with the place before I'd even departed England after the email exchanges I had to firstly book a table, and secondly ask about the events that were taking place in Porto... If I had not read the good reviews of this restaurant I might have been put off by the strange entrance and rather dingy stairs that lead to it. Once at the top of the stairs a restaurant of old world charm greets you together with very welcoming staff. Our table was by the window overlooking a pictureque square and... More

Don't be put off by the doorway - the old style apartment door leads to a restaurant on the first floor full of old character. The food is first class and in the mid price range with a reasonably priced wine list. A very recommended experience and the staff are fabulous.

Description
On the first floor of a historical site in Porto's downtown, recently opened a small quiet restaurant, called Camafeu. Go back to the times where you had a meal at your grandparent's place, where the decor was romantic but eclectic and where you can indulge yourself on mouth-watering but not-pretentious food.At dinner time, you are invited to stay for a late drink and enjoy, through the big windows, the scenery of the square bellow (Praca Carlos Alberto, named after our late King). We invite you to try the tender Sirloin steak or the Duck with figg jam, or the Prawn porridge among other fabulous appetizers and main-courses. Everybody will love our home-made desserts. Don't forget to ask for the famous Portuguese wine from the Douro region, either it's Port, White or Red.
