I have 25 years of restaurant experience, and one of my restaurants has the same Michelin rank as DOP… so… Not sure how experienced the travelers who complained about “overpriced” or “slow service“ were… To them I say: judging Michelein level cooking by Applebee’s pricing...standards is like complaining a Ferrari costs too much. As far as service speed goes, in most of the Mediterranean - slow, unrushed service equates with good service…. no “hovering” waiters tapping their feet waiting for you to finish so they can turn the table and earn more tips. Waiters are on a living wage salary in Europe (imagine that!)… so the table is yours as long as you want. Check never comes to the table UNTIL you ask.
