Had a very pleasant time at this restaurant with my family. The food is delicious, very well prepared, the staff is very friendly. I felt very secure, since we noticed several we noticed several hygiene measures to prevent contamination. Wish I thought about taking pictures...of the food before eating! Definitely recommend.More
Fantastic experience for a group of 8. We were warmly welcomed, had some appetizers such as clams, prawns, and a typical sausage. We ordered several dishes to share and to try a bit of all, like codfish, squid, seafood rice, etc. We also tried a...typical Portuguese dish called "carne porco alentejano", It was fantastic! Probably we will come back in a next opportunity.More
Me and my husband went to this family runned restaurant and had a very pleasant time. Fantastic location, close to the Avenida dos Aliados and touristc places. I had the Sole Fish Fried Fillets with a "tomato rice" and my husband had the grilled sardines....Before wenting there, I noticed a lot of reviews criticizing the fact that they charge for bread, butter and etc. Don't be upset, that's a very common thing in Portugal e many other countries, and we only payed for the we ate. Anyway, the visit to O Marinheiro totally worth your time and money!More
I like this family restaurant very much. Good food with reasonable price
Good service all from the family member. Higher recommend if you visit Porto. Definitely come again. Good choice of fish. Good house wine
We ducked into this restaurant right when it started to rain about lunchtime and found ourselves in a dining room with a number of local residents. The menu leans heavily on seafood, based on its name (mariner). And they certainly know how to prepare and...serve seafood. My wife ordered the sautéed hake, two sizable cakes served with a large prawn, several clams, potatoes, cabbage and a green salad. My plaice (European flounder) was delicate and delicious as flounder shoal be. They know how to sauté this delicate fish. It was served with potatoes and a side salad as well. We also enjoyed aa half bottle of Douro with our meal. They were happy to provide tap water on the side, although they charged for the bread and the accompanying condiments of butter, cheese spread and sardine paté. Even with that, the total bill for lunch came to less than 20 euros, a real bargain by any standard. Combined with service that was friendly and efficient, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Porto. the only reason I don't give it the fifth star is the regrettable charge for bread and condiments that you so not request but are served to the table.More
We tried this place since it was conveniently located near our hotel. They offer a variety of seafood, mostly fish, but also octopus. We sampled the pan fried sea bass & sole. Both were delicious & came with fresh green mixed salad & potatoes. Service...was attentive & friendly. Prices were very reasonable including the wine.More
